Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think the reason we dropped points against Everton (the missed chances aside) was because we didn't include Shaq and Keita as substitutes.

Don't know what's happening behind closed doors but he was doing alright for most of the season, especially as an impact sub.

He only had a few games where he was mediocre but other than that his been good. Every player goes off form a lil so it is normal when Shaq did.

Generally we play a 4-3-3 and Shaq just isn't a midfield player so he isn't an alternative to Lallana, Keita or Ox when we play that system. He's always been a forward player and always will be. Even when he puts a shift in off the ball, he just doesn't have the defensive nous required to be a midfield player.

That 10 role, weather it's in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, is essentially a midfield role and has quiet a bit of defensive responsibility. When we played a 4-2-3-1 Firmino played that role and Shaq was coming in from the left. Now we've moved Firmino back up top and are playing a 4-3-3, Shaq will only get chances in place of the front 3.

Groin injury so will miss internationals. Just wondering though will Klopp play him for the rest of the campaign. We've hardly seen him recently.

It's actually a "pubic inflammation" he's having

Salah won't be playing for Egypt but I was hoping players like Shaqiri or Keita, who need the game time, would play for their country this week.

Apparently he has pulled out of the internationals citing that he wants to stay and focus on his club.

A massive decision for him to make so i hope he gets rewarded with some proper gametime.

I take it we sold this lad over the summer then? not seen anything of him at all! Shame as I think he really has a place in this squad.

He's been found short in my opinion. And I don't just mean his height.

He's been given his chances and he's not really taken then. I think he'll be gone in the summer, unless he kicks up a fuss and wants a move out in January.

He just seems to be constantly injured which I think has hampered his chances of being a regular for us more so than him being awful. As a sub replacing one of the front 3 he would suit but anywhere else doesn't get the best out of him imo.

The training routine is brutal mate, looks like his body simply isn't able to take it.

Jesus, not another one, as you say given how modern players constantly high five/hug each other etc and given how contagious this thing is meant to be (56 times more contagious than the flu apparently) then it does seem pretty unlikely that only 3 of the squad will end up getting it
:(
Just got to hope that the anti Covid procedures the club put in place will negate the worst of it. To be fair the players should be fine, they are super fit 20 somethings with barely any body fat and no underlying health conditions, it’s the staff I’m more concerned about.
Get well soon Shaq.
