Celebrations - Do they tell you something?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Is it just me, or did Mellors goal celebrations have a touch of the David Pleats about them? (for younger people, when he was at luton they secured their place in the top division on the last weekend of the season, prompting a bizarre, running banshee like celebration from the rosy-cheeked plotter, similar to what your dad would do if he won the lottery).
Now I know many would say it doesn't matter. But, compare and contrast Mellors raving dervish to Igors casual shrug after he had just buried a 20 yarder against Fulham. One says, "feck me it's gone in!", the other says "yeh, AND?".
I reckon if I was a striker or apprentice goal-getter, I'd work on my signature celebration in advance so as to avoid anything too embarassing. Less is more as anyone who has seen their Dad dancing at a wedding would testify. Tone it down mate, play it cool. One finger in the air and running off at full pace, that should do the trick.

My favourite celebration was Kenny Dalglish after scoring against Bruges in the '78 european cup final.  Kenny simply ran to the Liverpool fans behind the goal, arms aloft.....brilliant

Come on mick we all know biscans reaction was of pure shock, im sure if he repeats the feat on Saturday in front of the KOP there will be a lot more emotion from him and the roof would come off the KOP!!! But you could see how much it meant to Mellor and im sure hes never gonna forget it....The boy done well!
Chopper:Look, you're not still angry at me about the leg, are you?
Neville Bartos : Nah, forget about it.
Chopper : Because I don't know if you remember, Neville, but I had that bloody shotgun pointed at your head. I reconsidered and dropped it down to your kneecap. Remember?

Henry is a fantastic player, but all the praise has gone to his head and he has become an arrogant ******, I would love to kick the ****** out of him.

Henry has done that in the Premiership as well. Before it was when guys like Danny Mills wound him up, now he does it the whole time, like he's saying "who da man?"

Gayest celebration ever was Henry's "holding hands" celebration with Robert Pires in the Celta Vigo CL match in Spain last year.  :D

That was not a patch on Reyes' team mate last season who bit his knob.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.
