:nod  Caught it the other week Red, deffo a good one  :buttrock

Increasingly it seems like the Koreans are turning out the more interesting movies. Jap cinema used to be my favourite but it's ages since they've produced something that I'd label as a must see  :(

Deffo   :nod   :nod   :nod . Got the dvd some time ago, I think I'm gonna watch it again   :D

Finally got my mitts on Battleship Island, really enjoyed it, so much so I did a bit of googling and was amazed to discover that it was a real place that only closed in 1974 ! It's called "Hashima" and is about 9 miles off the coast from Nagasaki.
Check out Wiki for more info.

Been working thru my back catalogue of stuff and don't know if I've mentioned it before but Yellow Sea is another I'd add to my must watch list.

Its a funny story about Yellow Sea mate, I started watching it and must have been 10 min's into the film when I started seeing prism's of colour in my vision, immediately thought it was the start of a stroke so stopped watching, stopped everything albeit from walking around in circles panicking.  :D

I will give it another go though because it looked good, but do you know when you associate something with a half an hour of anxiety  :;):

Been a while since I watched a "Samurai" movie but just caught the latest from Jap movie master Takashi Miike. As usual it's completely OTT and vying for a spot as possibly the bloodiest movie I've ever seen.

Watched this last night fella on your recommendation, thoroughly enjoyed it ,like a Japanese take on 'interview with a vampire',needless to say the Japs reinvented it. I thought the opening sequence in Black and white portraying  the death of his sister was masterfully put together and superbly shot.
