I'll be going up to 1Mbps soon though. Excellent news.
Telewest is to boost the speed of its broadband internet packages at no extra cost for the second time this year.
From next month, existing blueyonder internet customers will see their connection speed increase, but the monthly fee remain the same.
The blueyonder 3Mbps broadband package, which costs £50 a month, will increase to a 4Mbps connection. The 1.5Mbps service will increase to 2Mbps, but remain at £35 per month and the £25 a month 750Kbps package will be cranked up to a 1Mbps connection.
Eric Tveter, president and chief operating officer at Telewest Broadband, said: "This isn't a short-term offer and there are no catches - we're simply giving broadband users what they want, thanks to our advanced cable network. Christmas is a time for giving, so anyone fed up with Scrooge-like behaviour from their ISP knows where to come for faster, unlimited internet access."
Telewest's £17.99 a month 256Kbps packages will stay the same, although new customers that sign up before the end of November will be charged £14.99 a month for the first year.
NTL made a similar announcement last week - it will replace its existing 300Kbps, 700Kbps and 1.5Mbps packages with services offering speeds of 1Mbps, 2Mbps and 3Mbps in January. However, existing NTL broadband customers will stay on their current service until they pay a one-off £25 charge to upgrade.
A spokeswoman for Telewest, said: "Our customers won't have to pay a penny. They can just sit back and relax while we do all the hard work."
