Mark Lawrenson was pictured posing with a certain tabloid that in the context of this post will remain nameless ,he insists  he didn't realise it was the  detested tabloid.  If anyone wants to read his excuses they are in the link  ,but be warned the picture is damning and includes the rag in question.

I just find it inconceivable that anyone in football, let alone someone associated with Liverpool football club could be fooled into brandishing this tabloid.

He wasnt fooled at all. The pr'ick had it in his hands waiting to crack a "joke" but then said "a paper" instead of "the sun".
He is an arrogant, ignorant stupid ar'sehole who has gone too far with his disrespect. He knows quite well what the consequences would be to this particular choice, but he is too self centred and egotistical to care about it. He needs sacking from all things related to LFC immediately.

He's frankly detestable ,he was pilloried a while back for saying on air straight after the Liverpool Arsenal fans had just  sang an emotional justice for he 96 in tribute ,that "Maybe finally we can see some football now" ,the mans an absolute cunt.

Time for the ageing old has-been to fk off. If the man had any sense he would contractually instruct all concerned that he would not be prepared to be in the same room as that deplorable fkg rag !! His excuses are quite pathetic. An apology would have been more appropriate. Absolute clown for allowing this to happen whatever the circumstances. Sami made Henchoz look a lot better than he really was and Hansen did the same, only to a far greater extent, for Lawrenson. Good all round player but was he exceptional?

No fool like an old fool and Lawrenson should have retired with Hansen.

Its an absolute mystery to me how he continues in television media when hes clearly a loose cannon and has zero credibility amongst the public nationally and at Liverpool.
