Don't get me wrong with Didi. I wrote that without a trace of sarcasm, I think he's been a great servant to the club. My hunch is that he wants to go back home anyhow.

Hamman is worth another season, let him make his own choice, stay or go home. Although Barcelona were said to be interested, to cover a short term mid-field problem, he might fancy year in the Sun !!   I would !! I'd go there to sell programmes !!

Biscan done well.

Biscan's took his last chance. Diao hasn't.

Diao should be offloaded.

Gerrard
Alonso
Hamann
Biscan

Welsh
Potter

In that order. :)

You can not depend on Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard to get the job done in every game of every season.

We need good back up players and we have them; Hamann and Biscan. Why sell them when we can make good use of them?

Benitez isn't the type of manager who likes to spend a lot of money on any player nor does he like to buy players that he does not need. We have 4 central midfielders so why would Benitez buy another one when he could buy a striker or a player that we need in a certain position?

Benitez has shown his magic at Valencia. He turned average players into extremely good players like he did with Biscan and Traore last night. Those average players ended up holding La Liga trophy within two years. When the time comes to get rid of Hamann and Biscan Benitez will do so but this is not the time.

We need Biscan and Hamann simply because of injuries.

I also agree with Stu, Diao should be the one to get the boot come January. He is too poor for our standards, simply he is hopeless.

Hopeless? I wouldn't have said he was as good as that.

I can't believe some iof the views on Biscan based on ONE good performance ......madness!!!!!!

The Prem is awash with midfielders with twice his ability and 10 times his consistency ???

biscan played well last nite, i was even shocked at how well he played, but he has to produce that everytime he gets his chance, no good doing that once a season, if he plays as well as that alot this season then i reckon we could do far worse, hamann on the other hand i think isn't good enough, hes too slow and biscan has more skill than him now, thats sayign something and i totally agree diao isn't good enough and should be sold asap

Everyones entitled to their opinion , thats what these forums are for .....

Mine is that Hamann is still the better player over Biscan by a considerble margin.

We need to put last nights performance in context. Deportivo are NOT the team they were last season, they are low on confidence and average at best. This isn't intended to take anything away from Liverpool who may well have won whatever the opposition they had last night.......

agree there. Biscan has only put in the odd good performance, wheras Hamann has done his job consistently ever since he cam to Anfield.

It is nice to see Biscan improving under Rafa, and it gives us some added depth in the central midfield. Hopefully Igor can continue to improve under Rafa but he still has a way to go b4 he can replace Hamann IMO.

Look mate, nobody is saying well I'm not that Biscan is a class player. Compared to last season his performance yesterday was amazing. If Benitez starts him more often he will be able to prove himself more consistently.

Now Deportivo may not be the same team they were last year but they are great at home and they did beat Real Madrid 2-0 without any problems. Do not forget that.

I think what he is trying to say A.B. is that it is great to see Igor do well and keep improving hopefully, but let's not get carried away cos we have Hamann, Alonso and Gerrard who are better players.

Of course they are better players but we have to give credit where credit is due. Biscan hasn't had the chance to prove himself while Houllier was in charage. Now Benitez has changed Biscan completely by playing him in his natural position. If he gets played more often he will be able to prove himself more often.

Its good to be able to win a game without 2 key players. It just shows that we are not a one man squad.

Yeah, many good points have been brought up. Everyone has been telling numerous players "give them time" (cisse+baros, kewell, traore...diao:angry: etc) Biscan deserves this stint in the limelight, and it is true, he needs to show consitancy, but it is impossible if he does not get the chance!
