I was pondering over this earlier and here is what i came up with;

I think the Keeper, Agger and the two wing backs are nailed on unless Kelly and Sissokho can gain fitness and try and force their case to the manager.

For me its a toss up between Sakho and Toure for the second CB spot. Hard one to call imo.

Lucas should start most games this season unless he picks up an injury, and in that case we would be screwed coz we haven't got appropriate back-up. I will say though that there are certain games through the season where he shouldn't be needed, like Crystal Palace at home for example.

Stevie will also play in most games this season and rightly so unless of course his form takes a sharp down-turn.

For me Coutinho has to play ACM, linking up through the middle with the attack. I don't think he is as effective out wide, plus we need his creativity through the middle where he can influence the game more.

I'd play Moses out wide right and Suarez coming in from the left with Sturridge at the point of the attack. And I would encourage all three players to rotate around the attacking areas of the pitch.

That starting 11 is a very decent side and I can see us picking up a lot more points this season if we can keep everyone fit. That attacking quartet is potent

Where would you play Henderson, ACM?

I wonder how Ilori would cope in DM? maybe be something to look at in the cups? Very fast and very good 1 v 1's.

Would play him as part of a three behind the three front players - box to box, being fluid going forward and supporting in front of the back 4 , also would provide support through the middle and in the wider areas.

Two in the middle would get ripped apart IMO

Kelly in for Johnson without a doubt, would probably swap Suarez and Coutinho (unsure on that one, would experiment) and would play Aspas instead of Moses.

Never seen Sakho but at £17m I'm hoping he's going to be better than Agger and Toure so he'd probably start with one of those.

We need a right back still, we need two wide players so Luis can go back upfront and we need AT LEAST two central midfielders, especially with Gerrard's age. Hopefully Rodgers will get his ***** in gear and grab Lallana from Southampton before someone else does.

We can't play without Henderson at the moment IMO so I'd play him instead of Moses. Suarez would play right on the place of Moses and Countinho would be moved left while Henderson plays behind the strikers.

You'd put him in for his engine then? Yeah I can see your reasoning in it . My only worry there though we would be our lined-up would look very defensive. I mean we already have Lucas in there and Stevie also sitting deep so i don't really see the need to put Henderson in there along side those two. I think if we defended from our attack with either one of the front three coming back to help depending on which area of the pitch the support was needed and besides, Coutinho is no slouch when it comes to tracking back.

We need to be a bit more solid and defensive

The front three will create and score - Henderson and Gerrard will chip in as well

But the main reason to have the three is to give protection that allows the fullbacks to bomb forward to support

I like Kelly myself and he is probably a better defender than Glen, but the one thing Glen has is speed and the ability to run at teams. This is a match made in heaven for Rodgers, thats the way he wants his full backs to operate, more like wing backs.

You make perfect sense but i cant see the manager playing with Henderson in there now that he has Moses, we mustn't forget that the manager is very attack minded and sets his teams out to attack first and foremost. I think the purchase of Sakho was a marker, he is a speed merchant and also good in the tackle and in 1 v 1's. this leads me to believe we will be playing with a much higher line, pushing our aponents back and compressing the pitch, leaving less space for gaps in the middle.

The manager will learn just like he did last season - two in the middle will get overrun and there will be no protection for the full backs - it's what happened at the start of last season until Henderson came into the team. You need someone like Henderson in the middle if you have a severe lack of power and strength in the middle - adding numbers will improve that. No point being all attacking if you can't actually get the ball because your midfield is outnumbered. The high line will also get exposed by any team with pace.

Johnson's awful. Simple as that. Kelly's a decent player if not spectacular.
