Andy Carroll signs for West Ham

we are very lightweight without carroll, the F.A cup final showed how important he is to this team.
he is worth his weight in gold in the physical games where we usually get bullied out of it.
rodgers will soon find out how important he is at both ends of the field.

I think he probably will go unfortunately. I'll be disappointed in all honesty if he does get sold given the confidence that Kenny had in him for the long term and with the way he finished last season and scoring that goal in the Euros.

I'm not convinced about Borini replacing Carroll as the first choice with Suarez. It's ok to go with another striker in squad terms to complement Carroll and Suarez but I don't agree with changing the strike force again in terms of selling Carroll. I think BR will be making quite a mistake if he sells Carroll.

I have no idea where exactly you have gleaned that particular pearl from ,but as far as I am concerned (unless my ears deceive me ) it was along the lines
of "I have spoken to Andy on his holiday and he knows exactly where he stands he's a good player so he will always be linked to clubs ,as I say I have spoken
to many players and Andy's  a very good young player".

So do us a favour ,please refrain from reading in-between the lines ,as there are enough cretins in the media who will do precisely that .

I think he will be one of our most important players this coming season.

He now looks the player that we thought we had signed when he first arrived.

The lad can be unplayable when he's in the mood and the last third of the season he was in the mood.

I hope you're right so we'll see but what I heard was when he was pointedly asked if Carroll was part of his plans he refused to commit himself.

he`s committed himself on nothing though, i think he just doesnt want to pin his colours to any mast at this stage which is fair enough, i think rodgers will just look at what he`s got in pre season and take it from there.
the press seem to want him to say `i`m going to build my team around X player`, the other day someone mentioned if he was going to build his side around gerrard but he skillfully dodged the question by waxing lyrical about gerrard for 10 minutes without actually answering the original question.

Rodgers was asked about the rumours about Carroll to Milan and he dismissed them - what more is there to read into it ?!

He didn't he said there had been no offers for Carroll which isn't the same thing. If it turns out that they will keep him then fine I'll correct myself I hope so because he's a player who will get better in the future.

Ok my earlier point was that he didn't state 'Andy is part of my plans for the future and we're not looking to sell him' he appeared to me to leave a question mark by saying that he was still reviewing the squad.

I'm happy to believe that he wants to keep him it's really not a big deal.

every player has a price as we found out with Carroll. I'm sure he'll feature in our plans to go forward with Suarez and possibly Boroni.

Typical media trying to make a story out of nothing nearly every player in our squad get linked with going elsewhere just like all the players who are linked to us. It's total BS by the media who have f.uckall to report so they make it up been going on for years. As for Carroll I was one of his biggest critics but by the end of last season I changed my view of him. Yes i put my hand up I WAS WRONG

I was delighted with Andy’s improvement in the last few games of the season but I just don’t see him fitting in at a club with Champions League aspirations. I’d be very surprised if he is still at the club in a couple of years. I thought it was a knee-jerk signing at the time and we got robbed and nothing has changed my opinion.

Definitely not looking too good for Carroll. We didnt need the press conference to know that he is not a Brendan Rodgers type player.

The Euros again summed up what Andy Carroll is all about. Get the ball into the box and feed him direct service, or, hit long balls from the back that he can latch on to. He is very good at this (fantastic headed goal against Sweden, and he won virtually every flick on against Italy when he came on) but this is a direct method of play that no successful side plays, and England were outclassed and outpassed. Newcastle played this direct way when he was with them... they sat in the lower half of the table.... he leaves, they replace him with players who are good on the floor, they start passing it and move right up the table. Conversely we sign him, become more direct, and slip lower down the table with Newcastle bypassing us on the way. For Carroll to excell means playing a direct method.. so while he as an individual benefits the team as a whole suffers. No successful side plays in a style that caters to Carroll.

The template for Rodgers is Barcelona, and there could barely be a player more unsuited to such a style as Andy Carroll. He possesses neither the technique on the floor nor mobility to be compatible with this method of play. McGarry has spoken to Rodgers and made it clear that if there was an offer anywhere near close to what we paid for him (lets say 18 to 20m) then Carroll would be off.

My own view on the matter is i would like to keep him and hope he develops on the floor. He is a real handful in the air, destroyed Terry over two games at the end of the season, and its a great option to have, but we aint moneybags Man City/Chelsea, we cannot afford to have a player Kenny paid 35m for as just being an option. He is either a first choice forward or we cash in and get around half the money back. I just cannot see him being the forward in a Brendan Rodgers team.

Seriously, what the hell are they on about?

All he said is Carroll is a very good and young player, so he will be linked to clubs.  If anything, that's like saying he's a player everybody wants, so there's no reason to think Rogers wants to get rid of him.  Media turning absolutely nothing into something here.. It's not like he was hesitant or beating around the bush bring to avoid the question, he flat out said Andy Carroll is a very good player and he's young, so of course he'll be linked to other clubs.

Just like Suarez will be linked to other clubs, and Hazard was, and M'Vila and all of those other players you hear about.  They are young, and they are talented, so they will be linked with big clubs.  I'm not saying Carroll's in the same league as these, but if anything Rogers was complimenting Andy and saying big clubs are interested in big players.

f*cking move on.
