They wont employ him as he has a history of falling out with his employers and
kicking off when funds are not made available.

He even started making a scene with the Inter president for funds after he managed
to destory Mourhinos all conquering outfit with his own ego by completely changing
the style of play just to put his stamp on the team to its detriment.

You cant move forward living on memories and amongst ghosts from days gone by and
every time we do it just sets us back even further.

If we hired Rafa it would make us look absolutely ridiculous, a club unable to change
and living out some field of dreams fantasy because we cannot disconnect from the
past.

You hire a manager on a proven record - nothing else matters.

It is nothing to do with memories or ghosts - it is a proven track record of delivering what the owners what - No one can deny that - no one.

He arrived at Inter and was told he would have funds to purchase players because the Inter squad had zero depth - and guess what - the funds didnt become available.

Go and look at his record - it is exactly what the owners want.

Kenny was the best team player you could find. Yet he was sacked.

Do it, you know it makes sense

I doubt he would do it but I totally agree with you. Please also keep the rotation down a little. :buttrock

And never fu'ck up again like you did in Athens

Thing is, FSG have already done the sentimental appointment once largely due to the fact LFC fans wanted Kenny back in after the Hodge. I don't think they'll do the same again and bring in Rafa to appease the fans this time, for them it didn't work last time, so I reckon they'll want to start a new clean slate.

I just cannot see them getting Rafa back in.

Getting Rafa back is purely down to his proven track record of getting exactly what the owners want - getting us into the CL and challenging. Forget sentiment or what went on before with the previous owners - it should be just a purely footballing choice and it should be a given that they should at least consider him and at least speak to him.

Well, apparently they have and 'apparently' they are impressed with his CV.

a fucking absolute legend as a player.

He opens up this morning at 25/1 with Ladbrokes and Skybet.

He hasnt even been mentioned at all in the betting all week up to now. Interesting candidate alright. Id take him anyday before Martinez, Rogers or all that lot-type.

How was Athens Rafa's feck up? Because we were playing them off the park and they managed to beat us? If that's the case, Kenny's been fecking up so many times in the league this season...

Oh btw we were beaten by AC Milan and not Swansea...

Mags, Rafa fecked up in Athens, he did, only rafa supporters are blind to see it. Dropping Crouch and playing Kuyt as a lone striker was the f*ck up. The same way Kenny screwed it up in the FA cup final for not playing Carroll

Is there any chance we could have a poll started and list all the top 20/30 managers on odds checker?  Then allow everyone just ONE post to explain their reasoning for that choice - NO DEBATES, you can do that on this thread!

Ok... but why were we outplaying them? please answer that. Milan scored 2 goals in typical poacher's fashion by Insaghi, against the run of play... these kinda things happen in football... you can't say Rafa got it wrong...

We did dominate the game but Crouch should have played that day.

How I wish we have that team now... Gerrard in his prime, Alonso & Mascherano anchoring the midfield, Riise and Finnan as fullbacks the most consistent fullback pair ever, Agger and Carra in his prime. Our weakness back then were the wingers, Zenden and Penant. Even then Penant seems to be so much better than Henderson playing on the right. Another weakness was we didn't have a premier striker, Torres came only after that season.

those who had been campaigning very hard for Kenny to be sacked, esp the Kewell lad.
i hope you guys are happy that our clueless american owners are set to be announce Martinez as manager.
given a choice between Martinez and Clark, i rather Steve Clark take over as manager.
