LIVERPOOL v QPR

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby andy_g » Wed Mar 21, 2012 9:31 am

jesus christ! its tonight at 8! at loftus road!

QPR haven't won for 2 months in the premier league now and the big billionaires' project seems to be going tits up. they've been beaten by all the teams around them in the league and on paper it should be a win for us. being liverpool though its not guaranteed even though we've a couple of decent wins behind us. they do have some quality players on their day like barton, wright-philips, zamora and liverpool old boy and fans favourite djibril cisse, lord of the manor of frodsham. their manager is a bit of a knob.

i'd be disappointed if we don't bag the whole 3 points here, and at least make arsenal sweat a little bit again. i'd also like carroll to score at least one so kerry will shut the fúck up for a day or two.

injury news:  :;):

their disc jockey called campbell is out, as is helguson. johnson, agger and bellamy are out for us and its highly unlikely that lucas will even make the stadium, let alone the bench.

vaguely interesting facts:

it'll be dirk's 200th appearance.
they've thrown away winning positions lots of times.
last time we won there robbie fowler and mark wright scored the goals.

i'd post some funny pictures about queens and parks and rangers but i haven't had my breakfast yet.

You should do more match threads, at least you add the injury news, instead of me having to look into the treatment thread.  :D

I like your bit about Carroll scoring, I'll second that.

dirty nigthshift tonight so might not be able to catch the full 90 (or have a beer  :( ). Anything less than all three points is not good enough, we need to get some momentum now
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing

QPR have won one of their last 16 Premier League matches (at home to Wigan on 21 January).

This should be a walk in the park (excuse the pun) but we know better after our performances against league strugglers this year. Got to be careful. Grind out a 1-0 win. just.

the obvious advantage here is that QPR will absolutely definitely have to go for the win, meaning we shouldn't have the tricky problem of breaking them down.

We should be able to beat these guys. I was just wondering if Gerrard will be able to play cause he's already played a few in a row. Anyway, this is how I would like our line-up to be:

                  Reina

Kelly      Skrtel   Coates     Enrique

Kuyt     Gerrard  Spearing   Downing

              Carroll   Suarez

Swap Coates for Carra and I'd go with that. I was wanting to see Coates blooded a bit more this season, but after seeing him play a couple of times I'd rather he be kept on ice until we are mathematically out of the reckoning for the top 4, and then given starts in most of the Europa games next year. That Carra lad has probably done enough in the last few years to deserve a start or two!

Put Carra in for Coates and you've got a winner. Cant help but think Adam and Henderson will make a swift return to the starting 11 though. Doesnt look good when the side plays much better without the new buys than it does with them.

I don't think Suarez will start only because he took a knock on Sunday and it will give kenny a reason to rest him.

Is Bellamy definitely out??

                             Reina

Kelly.           Carra.       Skrtle.         Enrique

            Gerrard.       Hendo.       Spearing

  Maxi.             Carroll.         Downing/Bellamy

I also think Carra did well in the past few games and deserves to start, but Coates has a potential to be a great player for us in the future. That will never happen if we don't play him when we have the chance (like now, when Agger's injured). I'll always love Carragher but unfortunately it is time he got used to this and let the younger players take his place. The good thing about this is that I think he understands and approves these things... after all, he's the prime candidate to be in the club's coaching staff in the future :)

I'm not sure about this line-up, think it could have been better. Carroll should have started, and although Carra deserves it more, I think that Coates should have started in his place.

Their sole sopcast link doesn't appear to be working. Anyone else got a different sopcast link?
