It wouldnt end up like that at all.
We got 50 for torres
Spent 35 on Carroll,(lets say)
We get(lets say) 15 mill selling carroll
Thats a profit of 30 million. It has been less wages than Torres for the year and Carroll has more goals than Torres since. Not that bad of business to be honest. We spent 22 on Suarez so that steal almost cancels out misvalue of the Caroll deal.
It would mean that Torres deal woud only be effectively be worth 30 mill. But in its own right that is a good bit of business now.

You being sarcastic?
If not and that was a serious comment, pointing out that he scored his first goal in 11 games as some sort of "rest my case".. thats a pretty weak case.
It was a sweet strike yes, and when he swings his left and connects properly (and its on target) it will trouble the goalkeeper. However his accuracy is often wayward, and its an instinctive strike without deliberate precision. Hes done it a grand total of three times since hes been here.. Man City, Exeter, Oldham.
Now thats just his finishing (which altho average is actually his strongest point).. his general play outfield is conference standard. As Glenn Roeder stated his positional play, touch, control isn't good.... therefore hes never involved in the build up (we have one passer less in attack).
The papers today linking him with a 10-15 million pound move back are not a surprise, but no way can we do business at this point. I would keep Carroll as a back up (like we used him against Oldham) until the end of the season... and if hes still showing nothing then loan him for a season to a direct side (such as stoke) that keep it in the air and play to his limitations, and will possibly get his value up around the 15-18m mark.
The Man City games are our biggest of the season imo, they are what stops us from getting to the new wembley (and a Cup), and if Andy Carroll is ever going to deliver anything for us then now is the time.
