...... signed up for a 45kms bicycle race on 12th June.

I shall be participating on my 10 year old steel framed Sannino hybrid bike which is as knáckered as I am. I shall put new tyres on and wipe it down with an oliy rag. I shall also alert the ambulance service.

Last week I swam the 1,500m open water first leg of a triathlon, then a mate did the 40km bike ride and another the 10km run. We can 5th out of 25 teams - coincedence because I couldn't talk for 25 minutes after.

I might be an old twát but I'm not going down without a fight!     :buttrock

Good work son!

I like cycling, couldnt do the swimming bit (I cant swim) or the running bit (too many bad habits) but cycling is awesome.

Give us a paypal thingy and I'm sure a few will sponsor you, unless it's just something you're doing not for charity, in which case, good luck, we're all counting on you

There's no secret to being fit Lakes, you've got to commit to giving it a go and the fun starts from there.

lol well my body in :censored:, done too many silly things when i was younger like trying to get into the commonwealth weightlifting team and a ruptured achilles tendon when mountain climbing in the lake district lol and fallinf off a waterfall lol

hey the other year i even broke two ribs doing a Roly Poly down a hill in a race with my 6 year old pmsl (she was 4 at the time)

so yes i look back at thing and wish i can still do them, but it dont stop me from thinking what i can still do and doing them lol

in my dreams i would love to do the ironman...never going to happen lol

Good luck Reg. You have to be very dedicated to do something like that, I get nakard after a 40 min run, probably not even 4/5 miles.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.
