I really hope we dont spend all that money on Carroll. He's a good player and all but he's too expensive. Torres WTF can't you wait untill the end of the fecking season!!!

Johnny Boy, timing is crucial. they wont keep popping up with 'weve sign this fella' and half hour later... 'weve signed this one too' they'll wait and at 11pm tonight the club will unveil Adam, Suarez, Young and a world class left back all at once. Also, they'll tell us that the Torres issue was a big mix up and he was never going anywhere, it was a translation mis understanding. His agent thought he said 'I wanna join chelsea' but he actually said 'I wanna bomb chelsea'

Agree 35 is insane money better keep it for a new LB,CB,CM,Wingers..We need a lot to buy.

Nearly done by looks so shouldnt have to wait much longer now. Just hope we can get a deal or two sorted before nights out.

well the facts at the moment are...

Torres expected at Chelsea in next 30 minutes to discuss a deal.

Newcastle have delayed their 1330 press conference until 1530.

Its looking like Torres out and Carrol in.

The man has disappointed me on so many levels with his transfer request - at least stay until the end of the season and leave for the continent ffs. It will just be plain wrong to see him celebrating goals wearing blue along the likes of Terry and Drogba

Really thought he was in a different mould to many other modern players but I guess not :no

Terry, Fabregas, Rooney, Teves... all big players at top clubs who wanted to leave at some point and were denied by their clubs one way or the other... With the owners trying to get us back to the top of the league in the near future and seemingly no CL football next season, what kind of message does this send to the players we have at the club atm and more importantly to the players we plan to sign in the summer...

We should simply reject the bid whatever it is.. Offer Torres a new contract or the chance to leave in the summer. No chance of his value dropping given his age/contract and its not like we need the money... If his issue with the club is that we havent been active enough in the transfer market then maybe with new signings/improved performances from now until the end of the season we could change his mind..

Now i know many simply dont want him here anymore, but football fans are a fickle bunch... A few goals here and there and everyone will be cheering for him again in no time... He'll never be respected and adored by the fans the same way, but then again that has alot to do with the unrealistic expectations many have from foreign players... He left his boyhood club to win trophies, he's not winning any here.. Its only logical that he seeks a move from the club.. Timing is wrong but some are going on as if they eexpected him to stick around regardless of how things are going...
