this is a great idea actually. as long as we can give a left back the number 9 shirt it means nobody has to throw theirs away. everyone's a winner/

Can we still sing the song? I like the song!

Well I'm afraid thats it from me 2day - being stood down. Torres still there as I left, and there's been no further bid from Chelsea

It's now up to abramovic, if he wants to spend the magic figure of 50 mill for the deal to happen. This could go to the wire. See you 2moro!

Would have thought the transfer clause is there at £50m so if Chelsea hit that its game over and he will go. If they dont then we muddle through until the summer and line up his replacement. Abramovich has his chance, a clear run but he has to pay the price simple as really but he hasnt forked it out yet. We will see how badly he wants him between now and 11pm tomoz.

I feel for Kenny - what he is trying to do and all the effort to make him feel great again
For the rest of the team - they'll be shocked
for us the fans - who dote and idolise those who are able to wear that shirt, and play-out our dreams

I'm sad.. cos this is what it has come to ... he no-longer feels like he was ever ours !

It's sad but we have to move on. To be honest as good as he once was in the last year or so he's not been the same player. I'd rather look to the future with Suarez than worry about what might have been with Torres. I don't think he would have ever got back to the level he was once at and I suspect that Benitez knew for quite a while that Torres was going downhill physically and that we wouldn't get a sale last summer. He's become a sulk and not a positive influence on the team. It's disappointing but in the long run we'll benefit from him going.

TORRES AT THE END OF HIS TETHER AT LIVERPOOL OVER BROKEN PROMISES

Tony Evans, The Football Editor of The Times and the man who broke the story about Fernando Torres' Liverpool transfer request has said that he believes Torres will move to Chelsea in this transfer window.

Liverpool turned down the written transfer request and rejected a bid from Chelsea for the World Cup winning striker but it is understood that the player will try and force a move to Stamford Bridge before the window closes at 11.00pm tomorrow night.

Evans said: "I think it’s going to be a really disappointing time for Liverpool supporters and I think very soon the news will break all over the place that Fernando Torres intends to leave Liverpool and it will happen very, very soon."

Evans was asked if he thought Torres would leave Liverpool in this transfer window and added: "I believe so.

"We are led to believe by Tony Barrett, who is by far the best informed Liverpool writer in the country, that Fernando Torres has told the club that he wants to leave and that puts the club in a position where they have to do a deal with Chelsea.

"I don’t think it’s an official transfer request, he's just told the club that he wants to leave, I don't think it's been done in writing, I don’t think it’s gone that far but it's certainly gone far enough that it's almost irreparable.

"I think the relationship has broken down really fast between Torres and the club. The reality is Fernando Torres, over the past three years, has been promised the earth by officials of Liverpool and nothing has been delivered. This problem has been inherited by the new owners and I think Torres has just come to the end of his tether.

"I think that's the situation tonight, we'll see that news spread and we will see, going into tomorrow, some sort of deal being done with Chelsea.

"Kenny [Dalglish] can work miracles, and has done in the past on many occasions. Let's hope he can now for Liverpool Football Club's sake.

"I have to say I doubt [he can] at this stage [he can]. I think the die is cast and I think Torres will be a Chelsea player by the end of this window."

Isn't this just a rehash of yesterday's article? I'd rather Dalglish didn't work any 'miracles'. Torres will never be revered by the fans now in the way he once was. He's had 48 hours now to change his mind and issue a statement. Tony Evans is right the die is cast.

If he was "on the pitch playing for himself and selfish" then he would have left in the summer?
