Taxi for Torres - judas fecks off to chelsea

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

More thoughts....didn't sleep too well....

Why is it that we let other small(er) clubs like Ajax and Blackpool make silly demands on fees and we seem to be on the back foot all the time.

Babel, £6m, really? ???   Torres £35m? ???

Adams £14m.  Suarez £30m (I know we paid £22m ish)

If he wants to go, and they want him, this is fine.  CFC simply have to meet our valuation of him.  Which is £60m.  Until they do he plays for LFC, and if he doesn't put the effort in, he plays in the reserves.

Time to play hard ball.

PS - I still hope he stays :D

What torres needs to figure out is the history of Chelsea, they basically tried to buy it. This is a team that have to buy the supporters flags as there is no atmosphere. It's basically a bridge full of upper class twits who didnt follow football until Abramovichs millions. I remember seeing a story a few years ago where a season ticket holder was gonna stop going.. when he said "I've followed this club for 2 years through thik and thin and I've had enough" I knew what a joke they were.

It's a good place to go to get rich, but thats basically it. No soul, no history, good luck.

(And how much abuse is Torres getting about his autobiography now!)

Whole story swings back and forth but if I had to bet now I would guess he will be sold for cash plus Anelka and its the right thing. Torres thinks hes too good for Liverpool and down the line he will end up thinking same at Chelsea. His ego is that inflated I doubt he could be happy anywhere now and he even saw his backside at the World Cup in that terrific Spanish side.

Ya I was reading some article where it said that when we signed torres the first thing he did was go read all the books and watch dvds about our history and it said that if he is going to do the same thing for chelsea he'll probly have it done over a quick cup of coffee :D :D

This is doing my head in now.

The prolonged silence is very strange.  I keep thinking no news is good news, and he will be in training today, and we will stand firm till the window shuts and tell him to get on with it until the summer.

Then I think, nope, it means we are negotiating with Chelsea, and it is just a matter of how much we can get.  If we are then, I would say we can only sell him once, so for god's sake get every penny we can.

At the same time be taking to Athletico and bidding whatever it takes to get Aguero this window.

I still hope he stays :D

I think we have to give CHelsea a bit of credit because I heard the history of CHelsea DVD has their recent fa cup wins and premier league titles and they throw a bonus DVD of JOhn terrys mother gettimg sh@gged up the @rse from a couple of scousers.

We are Liverpool FC.  Fernando Torres is one player.  I am sad that he will inevitably leave for that club but that's his problem now.  I thank him for the wonderful goals and his efforts for the club.  And now we move on.  Take the maximum amount going - if that's £50m, Great!  Let's put some faith in our new owners and Kenny.  I think they are showing very encouraging signs combining prudence with a desire to achieve things.  Let's be true fans to the club and not the player who wants £200,000 pw.  We have bought a top striker.  With the money from Torres's sale we can buy Adam, NZogbia, a quality CB etc.  Let's look ahead.  We are on the up again.  We will come out best from this.  YNWA.

I would be happy with 45ml and Anelka
If we're honest with ourselves Torres has been a waste of space for a long time now.
That money to spend right now on Kennys other targets and getting a quality shoe in striker makes more sense to me than watching Torres sulk until summer.
I feel he is holding us back now with his attitude, what will he be like if he cant get his own way on this?
Whats best for the club is ALL that matters and he is NOT whats best for the club.
Get shut

We can't sell him now. It's all well and good getting £50/60m but we simply can't spend it with 36 hours of the transfer window left. It's impossible, even if we did bid we would get raped for price by every club. No time whatsoever to negotiate.

He stays to the summer at least, nothing else makes sense.
