Its almost like its a personal thing with him now, a trophy signing. The Russian has not got over those Champs Legaue defeats and has made it his quest to nab Torres ever since Gerrard stood him up. Lets face it Chelsea could do a better value deal, theres tons of quality out there, but he just cant let go on this and a big part of this chase is to massage his won ego and stick two fingers up at Liverpool by nabbing the Spaniard.

thats some theory :Oo: .
imo the two best young proven strikers out there is aguero and torres and they have already been told where to go by athletico so torres appears to be there plan b.

I am sure, if he goes, he will feel the full wrath of LFC supporters for his treacherous, back stabbing ways.
There will be a :censored: storm beyond his wildest imagination and he will have no peace while he is in this country. He will lose any credibility, respect and goodwill he had and he will rue the Fu*king day he decided to sh'it on us.
Saying that I think he'll stay...

Imagine the carnage at Stamford Bridge next sunday?

He is fully aware of this surely he has to be?

Imagine him playing at Anfield against us in Chelsea colours, what does he think hes going to recieve a round of applaus and the Torres bounce?

Well he is very much mistaken if he thinks we will forgive him for this even the vitrol Gary Neville recieves will have nothing on him going to that horrible shower of b@stards.

He has created this no one else, no excuses, he put the transfer request in and now he must face the consequences that are about to come his way.
He will be sorry, very sorry he ever fucked our club over like this after everything we have just been through.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

REST IN PEACE PHIL, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

After everything hes said and he way hes been treated here I dread to think of the backlash.
No need for him to go there.

I'm not convinced the players return to training tomorrow but I imagine it will be resolved by then. My guess is any statement will be on monday but if the club do decide to get rid now end of I doubt they will push Chelsea beyond £40 million.

Ciggy your expections from Foreign players in this day and age is totally detached from Reality. Haven't we done the same with Suaretz from Ajax? Aren't we getting a "traitor" which asked to leave while still on a contract? Come on grow up. If Torres wants to leave and we get the money we want and need the Then Thank you and Fck off. Torres which left Atletic in search of title prospect and CL trophies was never going to act as a home grown Liverpool player. Don't get too angry over his behaviour. Let's focus on LiverpoolFc!

He commits himself to the club multiple times in the summer, at the beginning of the season when we were garbage and in relegation zone, and even during the January transfer window.  We buy Suarez showing how much we appreciate Torres and want to support him, show him how strong we plan on making the club, and then he hands in a transfer request a few hours after the purchase?  I wonder if he handed it in earlier than we thought, so we paid up for Suarez knowing we may lose him.

The thing is, he was garbage at the beginning of the season.  He did nothing for us but waste space and yet we sung his name as loud as we could game in game out.  We supported him with all our hearts when he was struggling and it helped him get through.  Now he has hit some good form, we continue heaping praise on him and he tells us he wants to go to chealsea... it makes no sense?  Why would he want to go anyway?   THey are in fourth place and paying bad, worse then us recently until the bolton game. 10 points behind league leaders and there is 3 clubs firmly ahead of them.  They aren't going to win this year.... so why would he shake it up like this 3 days before the window closes knowing the chance of him going was probably very slim.  He could have waited until summer, made sure he made the right choice, and not have p!ssed off the millions of LFC fans across the world for the rest of the season.

Nobody will ever look at him the same and when he goes, he will regret it.

If he comes out immediately and says I'm sorry, I was wrong, things got to me and I want to commit my future to LFC by signing a contract extention with a 100 million pound buyout, I will forgive him.  But I won't forget.

Perhaps now, people will stop banging on about players (and managers) "loving the club" or being "true reds" and all of that other noise.

Players and managers are mercenaries and they'll want to go to what they will feel are better situations for themselves. There is just no such thing as loyalty from anyone involved in the game. Torres obviously believes that Liverpool aren't going to be much use in teh coming years and he wants to get out to a team that he believes will.

Personally, I'd get rid, if Chelsea were to offer 40 mil and Sturridge. Because Torres has brunt bridges now with the request and things just aren't going to be the same.

Liverpool have openly stated he's going nowhere for the time being ...its now up to Fernando to state his reasons for this knee jerk reaction

Spot on mate we dont know whats happened. I lke Torres as a man and love him as a player, i dont believe hes a lying snake and a judas, i believe his comments are genuine. Players are only human they can get disillusioned make stupid rash decisions (no matter how big they are) ala Gerrard. A footballers career is short and when they get to Nandos age and feel they havent won the things they would of liked regardless of thier talent they start to panic.

If we keep him until the summer we need to support him otherwise were just shouting ourselves in the foot, we wot him to score as many goals as possible o try and get us in europe and win it thsi year, also the better he is the money we will get for him. He could even change his mind and he would be forgiven not by everyone but by most.

If he doesnt we start a bidding war and sell him to the highest bidder and we WILL become a better team for the money we would recieve.

Keep the faith, its a bright future with or wthout Torres

he'lll just be another player there in their machine. he'll never be adored by the fans the same way he was here, primarily because chelsea's fans are sh#te anyway.

as far as i'm concerned they're an aging squad on the decline who are in need of a major overhaul. they are no more likely than us to win anything this season imo and there's no guarantee that they'll even be in the CL next season. at least we've got a vision of looking at bringing in younger players and building for the future. they've got an owner who is quite clearly losing interest in the club and this attempted signing of torres is an attempt to appease the fans. i doubt ancelotti even had a say in the matter if i'm honest.

But loyalty is a two way street... how many assurances do you think Fernando has had from the board over the last year that we are going to strengthen and build a team to win him the trophies his talent deserves? And how unfair is it to start giving the lad this level of stick when all he has done is say he would like to leave the club! I think personally its disgusting. Kenny himself has been promoting the club and the dignified way that it treats the supporters and other clubs but some here are not reciprocating this attitude. Do you think he has done this out of petulance or on a whim? NO.. this has been coming and we all knew it.

The lad clearly wants to leave. If he does go, which is by no means certain I wish him all the best and thank him for the effort he has put it over the last four years. And if we hold out for the 50 million in his contract it will be good business, doubling our investment. Also remember that he has been injury prone and has missed a lot of football. Its not that terrible if he goes.

We have been fortunate to have Fernando Torres at the club for four years. He has scored goals and without them really where would we have been?

If the lad is set on leaving we do not know the reason. Only Fernando knows why he wants to leave and has obviously communicated to the club but he is not shouting to the press or throwing tantrums. He is conducting himself properly and should be afforded the respect he deserves.

I like everyone else think that he is being stupid for wanting to leave, but for crying out loud give him a break and show some class!

:bowdown  Its ironic that most posters on here have been calling Torres a child

it aint the fact that he wants out,if he wants to win things and feels that he will with another club then so be it.if were honest we knew we would probably struggle to hold on to him in the summer anyway.
its the way that he is going about it that is the problem and has so many fans angry with him.
