Just over a week later he hands in a transfer request?

Well 10 days ago chelsea hadn't made a formal bid. Now they have.

That can certainly change things in his mind.

And Liverpool is my english club, I would never play for another english club, I love the city and the fans

Shallow feckin words, whether Chelsea, City or any other english club came in for him.

Just had another thought.  Isn't Torres cup tied for both Europe and FA Cup?  Wouldn't he only be available for the Chavs for Prem matches this season?

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

The thing is, if he does decide to stay long term the fans will soon forget, the same way that they did with Steven Gerrard. Twice. Same with Shrek at United. Football fans are fickle ba$tards.

Yeah, i'll never look at him the same way ever again.  Same as Gerrard, he'll have to perform on and off the pitch for me to feel like he's worth the time.  I really don't want a Rooney situation, he said he wants to leave so ship him out.  Hopefully the owners can be ruthless in this situation and get rid, whoever doesn't want to be here can hit the road.

i think there are many, myself included, that have not felt the same for gerrard as they did before his dabblings with a move to chelsea. i can respect him as a player but not so much as a person and a representative of what it means to play for the club.

however, his situation was slightly different. the various reasons including miscommunication and fecking parry ( ) he felt unloved and as if he was being slowly pushed out and chelsea were the only ones offering him an escape route. and yes, this was as much down to his own insecurities as anything. torres, however, is directly angling for and even demanding a move - and only days after expressing his 'devotion' to the cause.

i think the main difference is gerrard didn't state his desire to leave three days before the window closed.

i agree with you entirely though. i'll always respect gerrard the player but gerrard the man has left a lot to be desired in the past. infact i remember starting a thread advocating selling him immediately after the first dalliance with chelsea. if you've read gerrard's book you'd see that he's a very insecure individual who was also badly advised when he was younger.

this whole torres thing is really pi$$ing me off because of the timing. why now? why not at the start of the window when we in dissarray under hodgson?

If we get a 40-50mil bid Of course let him go. People are forgeting the current position the club is ,we are middle table team maybe scratching to top 5 in the premier league with our current squad ,We need to bring 6-7 new quality players ,and Unless the Owner is willing to invest that amount by himself ,then yes take him on this offer and use it wisefully to kickstart this new decade.

Whats annoying and perhaps Torres realise nor care is that Abramovich has been determined to buy one of our top lads since he took over at Chelsea. Its almost like its a personal thing with him now, a trophy signing. The Russian has not got over those Champs Legaue defeats and has made it his quest to nab Torres ever since Gerrard stood him up. Lets face it Chelsea could do a better value deal, theres tons of quality out there, but he just cant let go on this and a big part of this chase is to massage his won ego and stick two fingers up at Liverpool by nabbing the Spaniard.

No matter how disappointing it is, the fact is regardless of size of fee we cannot afford to let him go now. Summer yes, goodluck and good riddance then

He either pledged loyalty to the club and the fans this weekend or he goes end of. He's another Mascherano a turncoat and not the sort of player or person we want at Anfield. He could have gone last summer when the club was deep in debt and being owned by two shysters. As for broken promises he knew that Hodgson was not a top notch boss. What could the new owners do to bring in new players in October after the window had passed? Why didn't he ask for a move when Hodgson was in charge because there was no window then and no-one would have been interested? He could have done this weeks ago even after Kenny had been appointed. He knew full well that by doing it this late in the window regardless of the talks over Suarez we wouldn't be able to replace him until the summer. This has been a sordid episode deliberately engineered by Torres and his scum advisors to ensure that Liverpool were shafted big time and Fernando "I love myself" Torres got came out of it smelling of roses for him and him only. Liverpool should push Chelsea for £50 million or higher and push this deal so that it concludes at midnight monday just to raise a doubt in Torres's mind as to whether it will go through or not in time. He won't be welcome at Anfield again after Monday the sooner he's gone the better.

Paul Tompkins is saying the King has been talking to him for the past 24 hours to convince him to stay.

Whats the point in him staying now? Hes already had a t!tty lip on his face for most of the season, will have another bigger one if he doesnt get his move to his plastic sh!tty @rse no mark club, and from now until May he will be constantly linked with a move away.

get fuckin rid now, no more pandering to him, he doesnt want to play for my club anymore so fuck him, the grass is never greener and he will find out soon enough. I am disgusted in his behaviour he has stuck two fingers up to every single liverpool fan who idolises him and disrespected this club and King kenny !!!!

He is being very, very badly advised
If he thinks its just a matter of packing his bags and going to a different club he is very much mistaken
I am sure, if he goes, he will feel the full wrath of LFC supporters for his treacherous, back stabbing ways.
There will be a sh'it storm beyond his wildest imagination and he will have no peace while he is in this country. He will lose any credibility, respect and goodwill he had and he will rue the Fu*king day he decided to sh'it on us.
Saying that I think he'll stay...
