It's one thing for that to happen and another for a Rival Club to try and offer cash for our player.

If nothing has been said by Torres i think we should all calm down until there is something to have a go about!!

A lot of respected Journos have been saying he wants out, notably Tony Barret (who I really like), that is why people are worried, we won't hear a thing until further announcement I guess

Is this just creative jounalism selling stories after an offer has been made?

I hope so, really would be gutted if Torres goes when the tide seemed to be changing!!

Am really scared there might be something to this story, but as long as nothing official has been said I agree everyone ought to calm down. What is down right embarrassing are LFC fans calling Torres al sorts of things already (not on here necessarily but on RAWK there are many cringeworthy comments). He stated his commitment a few weeks ago and hopefully he'll stick to that. Torres has always come across as a more than decent and dignified person. However I too must again admit to being a bit scared of losing him - especially to that shower of :censored: :(

Do us proud Nando and show us what your armband said!

bollox. he didnt fulfill hid atletico contract.

no matter how loyal you are, you never really want to leave at the end of your contract, infact if you cared about the club at all you'd leave mid contract so the club gets some income.

I think the point of all this is, until something actually happens to sit tight and wait.
Some people will think the worst and some will say tomorrow he will commit to LFC.
Lets hope the latter is true and sit things out!

Fingers are crossed........

But...

If Paul Tomkins twitter post is to be taken seriously. All three parties (Torres, Chelsea and most importantly Liverpool) are happy with the idea of a Torres sale.

What I would like cleared up is -

* What Dalglish's stance on the matter is.
* What Torres has to say in person

and finally

If Torres does in fact be sold are the club willing to bid within this window for a world class striker?

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

Tony Evans, The Times’ Football Editor, has told talkSPORT that he believes Fernando Torres will move to Chelsea in this transfer window.

It has been reported that Chelsea have already had a bid for the World Cup winning striker rejected. But, it is understood the Spaniard will try and force a move to Stamford Bridge before the deadline on Monday.

“I think the die is cast and I think Torres will be a Chelsea player by the end of this window.”

Tony Evans - Football Editor of The Times

Evans revealed: “I think it’s going to be a really disappointing time for Liverpool supporters and I think very soon the news will break all over the place that Fernando Torres intends to leave Liverpool and it will happen very, very soon.”

Asked if he thought Torres would be leaving in the current transfer window, Evans added: “I believe so, we are led to believe by Tony Barrett, who is by far the best informed Liverpool writer in the country, that Fernando Torres has told the club that he wants to leave and that puts the club in a position where they have to do a deal with Chelsea.

“I don’t think it’s an official transfer request, he’s just told the club that he wants to leave, I don’t think it’s been done in writing, I don’t think it’s gone that far but it’s certainly gone far enough that it’s almost irreparable.

“I think the relationship has broken down really fast between Torres and the club, the reality is Fernando Torres, over the past three years, has been promised the earth by officials of Liverpool and nothings been delivered. This problem has been inherited by the new owners and I think Torres has just come to the end of his tether.

“I think that’s the situation tonight, we’ll see that news spread and we will see, going into tomorrow, some sort of deal being done with Chelsea.

“Kenny [Dalglish] can work miracles, and has done in the past on many occasions, lets hope he can now for Liverpool football club’s sake. I have to say I doubt [he can] at this stage [he can]. I think the die is cast and I think Torres will be a Chelsea player by the end of this window.”

I can't believe people are worked up over this. nano hasn't said a single word concerning this issue, it is a classic case of lazy and unabashed yellow journalism that frankly, we all should've expected given the transfer period we're in. sure, it is true that Chelsea lodged a bid for Fernando. but that stopped there.

most of you know there is no way this deal is happening, so stop the fuss. it just goes to show how little the Fu.cking media knows about Fernando.

fernando's not telling Liverpool he wants to transfer. he's sitting at his kitchen table in his bathrobes laughing his :censored: off thinking about the prospect of him playing with drogba and John Terry. he's laughing so hard that he probably called king Kenny and told him to tell Chelsea to bid at least 100 million. Kenny laughed heartily as well then told Torres to Fu.ck off and have a good night. 100 million, Kenny would think aloud. they'd have to cough up a little more than that even then.

the end.

how do I know this? I'm a journalist with very good sources connected to the club.

with a little imagination, you can be one too.
