Well could it be that the manager is not playing to his stregnths and he's pretty miffed at this . Anyone see the stat that nando had the least touches of any player on the park on saturday . Why would that be then ? Could it be that he is not getting the service from the midfield that he should be be ? Could it be that the gap between the midfield and the strikers is far to big ? What do you want torres to do , come deeper to get the ball off the midfield ? So that would mean you have N'gog coming deeper aswell as Torres ,very threatening to the defense i must say . Torres plays on the shoulder of the defender that is his whole game and he relies on his speed to beat the offside trap and feeding of through balls from our midfield to put him in a good position to profit . Once it happend and once he missed the chance (the goalie saved it ) . If the whole team pushed twenty yards up the park the difference would be there to see. THe defense wouldn't have to hoof the ball hopeing torres or n'gog might win a header and then somehow create a chance for themselves . The defense could pass he ball onto midfield who are then closer to the strikers to ceate chances and support those strikers when attacking goal . Torres is miffed and rightly so because hodgson thinks that he should play like Bobby feckin zamorra and  plough a loan furrow up front hoping for your midfield to make that twenty yards of space up to support him . Win the headers and cause a nusance for the defense . Bollox to that , he is  not your old style english target man , he's a lad who relies on his team mates to help create chances for him and he's not getting that help , so he's p1ssed off and again rightly so .

Mate, he is getting some service, didn't you see Maxi and Torres linking very well with each other against Spurs? didn't you see the two chances he had that the first season Torres would have buried ? The chance that he had that he should have buried against newcastle. Ngog out preformed him mate, he was running all around trying to dribble around players, but Torres just stood there and did nothing to help out. Clearly he isn't the Torres we know.

Steven Gerrard last season was slagged off for being poor from most of the people here, but no one called him a ''scapegoat'' or even blamed the manager for the tactics involved to utilize his strengths. Gerrard also suffered from a lack of confidence, and Torres the same this season.

You can blame the manager all you want, I do blame him for the away performances and other things, but Torres needs to look himself in the mirror and remember that he is playing for Liverpool.

You mean when he was so awful he scored 18 goals in 22 league matches even when struggling with injuries? Compared to this year when he has 5 goals in 16 matches?

That is 0,82 goals/match in 2009-2010 and 0,31 goals/match in 2010-2011 so far.

And a lot of the goals were before December 2009 and after that he just wasn't himself and I accept the injuries argument. As I have said I am a massive fan of Torres and the same can not be said of my feelings toward RH but I just think that there is more to it than Hodgson's tactics. Hope I am wrong and when Hodgson leaves the old Nando will have a smile back on his face.

6 goals in 9 league games after christmas if i remember correctly. Thats still twice as many goals/match than what he has now.

just look at the tevez situation and even when mash was here. Whatever is going on behind the scenes you know when he gets on the pitch hes totally committed and shows unbelievable desire. Thats all i want from nando just show us some fecking desire and passion. Hicks and gillett have long down so get over whatever is bugging you and earn your fecking bacon.

I was surprised that Babel lost his place to Torres on Saturday.

Torres is just not 100% with it at the moment. The comment about him knowing he is away in the summer may be valid but he has a long-term deal with LFC so if he does try and force his way out then the club won't be sold short.

If he doesn't want to be here then he should be sold, end of.

exactly do you really think some players dont moan about certain players getting special treatment. what harm would it of done to start nando on the bench its time he got a wakeup call.

Babel was excellent against Villa and must feel hard done by losing his place on Saturday. He showed enough against Villa to merit a run in the team. If that is at the expense of Nando then so be it.

I wouldnt, I would build a squad around him if need be, on form he is the best striker i the world, selling him in any fashion is a backwards step, besides, all we would need to do to keep him is give him a bag of sweets, look how made up he was when Miereles offered him a sweetie, (then hid them from him)

You don't sell the best striker in the world - you build around him and you set up to get the best out of him

It is true if we were Citeh, the chavs otr Manure then we could afford to build a team around him but we aren't and we can't.
The money we could get from Nando would go a long way towards rebuilding the team/squad he is a lucury which we simply can't afford, especially when he's not happy.
