From the moment Roy signed the contract he was up against it. He knew the only reason he was in the frame in the first place is that the club were limited in who they could attract due to the lack of transfer funds and the uncertain ownership issue. This season he has had the chance to audition for the job and he is failing.
My guess is that unless there is a dramatic change in the second half of the season the board will start to put together a shortlist in March, approach targets in April, with Roy leaving at the end of the season.
We all knew that the priority this season was getting rid of Hicks and Gillett, removing the crippling interest payment and finalising the plans for the stadium. As sad as it is to say, the footballing side was always going to behind these bigger priorities. Most viewed Roy's appoint as an interim one and he has done nothing to prove us wrong but please don't lose sight of the fact that he is the manager of LFC right now so show him a bit of respect.
