On the issue of captaincy for the next few games. Obviously the absence of Gerrard and Carragher a new captain will be made.

The obvious candidates are Reina, Cole or Torres.

But I think if Roy is clever he will make Torres captain. We all know the impact the captaincy had on Gerrard under Houllier, giving it to Torres (albeit temporarily) IMO would have a similar effect and give him the impetus and motivation to regain his former form.

Thoughts?

has to be reina for me all day long just let torres play his own game and not have to worry about others

I can see it being Reina but I do not agree with goalie captains.

They have minimal contact with the outfield. They can hardly approach the ref when a disagreement happens and the play is stopped in the oppositions half.

For me a captain has to be an outfielder as a minimum, ideally CM.

We should alternate the captaincy between Carra, Reina and Torres. Just to see how they do and also, this would not upset one or the other until Gerrard comes back. Carra might not like it but not sure how serious was his injury. Would really love to see Torres to be the Captain for once.

torres or reina for me.they are the two with the most respect and deserve the job.
other than that id give it to kuyt but only because of the amount of time he has been with us and the fact that he wears his heart on his sleeve but isnt influential enough for the arm band.
