On the issue of captaincy for the next few games. Obviously the absence of Gerrard and Carragher a new captain will be made.

The obvious candidates are Reina, Cole or Torres.

But I think if Roy is clever he will make Torres captain. We all know the impact the captaincy had on Gerrard under Houllier, giving it to Torres (albeit temporarily) IMO would have a similar effect and give him the impetus and motivation to regain his former form.

Thoughts?

Using that method we must give it to Konchesky!

It would be a real shot in the arm for Fernando to be given it. The sulking will stop and he'll work more. Reina will probably get it. But, i dont agree with Goalkeeping captains.

Reina is most deserving.  Followed by Kuyt.  But I like the idea of giving the armband to Torres and seeing if it lights the fire we would like to see from him.

If its true Nan lets hope some of our defenders can grab this opportunity with both hands, Carra hasnt been the player of old for a while now and this should give the likes of Skrtel or Soto even dare I say it Danny A if he can be bloody fit for a change the opportunity to make a 1st team position their own

Reina is the only logical choice, Torres is not in the right state of mind to be leading anyone right now. I would not trust anyone else with that responsibility in the team.

Torres for me, he was the captain for A.madrid when he was 19-20?
u give that man the captain's armband it he will put in 10-20% more in his performance.

Gerrard captain for LFC
Beckham captain for England, totally changed him.

Reina will probably get it, but personally I'd like to see it given to Nando. Could be just what he needs.
