Considering at least "some" of our key players are likely to depart after the world cup, be it SG, Masch, possibly Torres..etc...there's feckall to spend on new players (or not ENOUGH !)...that pretty much sums it up

The guardian today:

Dalglish's son, meanwhile, has claimed his father only wants to succeed Benítez at Anfield owing to an absence of credible alternatives. Paul Dalglish, now head coach of Tampa Bay Rowdies, revealed: "It's not as though José Mourinho is going to come and do the job. It's not as though Fabio Capello's going to leave England to become the next manager of Liverpool. My dad wants to do the job and he feels he is the best person available to do the job. If José Mourinho was available and he wanted to do the job, my dad wouldn't have any interest in it because all my dad ever does is act in the best interests of Liverpool Football Club."

Well these are assumptions for one mate.
Its just rumours at this stage about every single possible player leaving.

We also dont have any actual prove that if they do leave the new man wont have any money.

I bet you any money though even if we lost Stevie Mascherano and Torres, the football on display wouldnt be as dire to watch as last seasons.

No it will be 10 times worse if Roy feckin hodgeson comes in.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

That is not possible.

Last season is the worst i have seen in a long time.

I am not just talking about results.
There were away games last season where we had like 2 shots in the game and Ngog upfront on his own.

I cant see it being any worse than that with Hodgson (if he comes)

Like I said "clearly an alter with an axe to swing  ".... and a veritable essay no less ??? but sadly with the same outcome  ???
plus a whole post without mentioning Birmingham's proximity to us in the table  regrettably you still have a propensity to collide when swerving would have been far more sensible , but then we all cant be good drivers

It is a real possibility that Gerrard and Torres could walk this summer, if not this summer then next summer. A change of manager will not guarantee we hold onto our best players.

everyone needs a chance to prove their capabilities whether or not they have a common English or exotic sound Latino name. thats common sense which in this site doesnt seem so common after all.

And with good reason cause he's shite, his Fulham team has won 4 away games in two seasons, last season they finished 5 places further than the season before. Forget the Euro league final, Steve mac Laren got Boro there aswell should he be considered for the job  ???

NO !!! The same with Roy Hodgeson its madness that he is even on the list.

Until the ownership changes we will be presented with mediocrity on the pitch with cr@p players and a sh!te manager.

because i'm shocked, and saddened, that a lot of people on here supported Rafa/our players more than they support Liverpool FC. In fact, there a few here who can't wait for a possible meltdown, just so they can say "I told you so".

It's wrong Reg. Football is about supporting your club during the highs AND the lows. No manager, player, or owner is bigger than the club. If you think they are then you have no idea about our football team.

What's more, some people on here are not even prepared to give a new manager a chance.

If people don't like it, why don't they go support Inter or Chelsea?  Either that, or shut up with the negative posts.

Zara, why don't you go follow Rafa to Inter, you clearly lovehim more than our football team.
:)

great post. sums up my feelings exactly. whether or not the players are leaving we have yet to see because everything is speculation right now and no one has anything concrete because of the WC.

manager wise, well, so what if its Roy or Mark Hughes or whoever? it's the club we support. after all, the irony is that those who preach about how no one is bigger then the club are making it seem exactly the other way round.

and yes, some people should ask themselves if they support Rafa FC or Liverpool FC. they know who they are.

MAXY: its important that you take into account my response to that comment by Kewl to understand where I´m coming from. Copied below:

Kewel said "Supporting the club, and supporting the owners are two very differnt things.

supporting the club means getting rid of the owners

And supporting our new manager, whoever that may be."

I replied: "Yes but you and the owners have to accept that they have alienated a significant portion of the fanbase the way they have handled the Rafa sacking.

I am not mechanical in my undying love for anyone or anything and when someone písses me off, it shows.

Respect has to be earned and the owners do not have mine, nor the CEO nor MD. Wheeling in a new manager, the end game of a sorry sacking will not immediately earn my respect nor admiration. Of course I will give the guy a chance but he must prove his value, it doesnt come automatic.

So, píss anyone off enough in a relationship and they´ll start to question whether their partner is the right one which which the owners/ceo/md, in my case, is not the right partner."
