Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I would love to see us sign Lee Cattermole and Jeremy Toulalan in place of Javier Mascherano, though I guess I am dreaming.

Okay, but I will absolutely guarantee you that our entire spine would have been linked with summer transfers if Rafa had stayed as well.  We were abysmal last season, finished 7th and do not have Champions League football to look forward to this year so it doesn't take a genius to see that the press was going to speculate about some big name departures from Anfield.  In short, the rumours don't support any sort of "we told youse so" stance at all so it would be nice if the crowing could be put on hold until something actually happens to warrant it.

because i'm shocked, and saddened, that a lot of people on here supported Rafa/our players more than they support Liverpool FC. In fact, there a few here who can't wait for a possible meltdown, just so they can say "I told you so".

It's wrong Reg. Football is about supporting your club during the highs AND the lows. No manager, player, or owner is bigger than the club. If you think they are then you have no idea about our football team.

What's more, some people on here are not even prepared to give a new manager a chance.

If people don't like it, why don't they go support Inter or Chelsea?  Either that, or shut up with the negative posts.

Zara, why don't you go follow Rafa to Inter, you clearly lovehim more than our football team.

Kewell, sorry mate but you've called Rafa bleeding allsorts, you're hardly in a position to take the moral highground here

People can see that right now this club needs its players, if we lose them we cant replace them, its that simple.

Masch and Benny should raise the best part of £40m between them.

Let's see how much of that goes to RBS or to the new manager.  If it is the latter then we stand half a chance, if it pays off debt then yes we are very f00ked.  :(

Maybe posters should show as much patience as was afforded Benitez after one season finishing out of the top four ,I seem to remember the same posters who offered little respect in regards to the manager ,now want us all to play happy families and start getting behind the Club and the "Owners choice of manager "  ???  ....Its not going to happen we are split completely asunder ,that is the true measure of the damage they have wreaked upon this once great club ,it simply wasn't about Benitez it was about the slurs and the sheer personal disbelief that some fans couldn't see he was here just for us and to fight behind the scenes on our behalf ........ but some posters continually harped on with the intent of hammering their point home (to the more pliable shall we say  )and their failure to grasp the bigger picture culminated in our collapse ,and that in turn meaning we will  never again be able to read from the same hymn book ................ Yes the divide is that great  Too many bridges burnt in my opinion

I mean surely supporters and fans alike should have realised this pent up frustration they felt went both ways and the pros were equally as vexed as the antis especially as the writing was quite clearly on the wall (IN NEON LIGHTS ) for those who took the time to stop and read it  ??? ..... Well now its here no more speculation these fuckers are dismantling our once proud club from the inside out and they are doing this while we watch on in horror ..... Roy Hodgson "dont make me laugh" if these b@stards had any ambition do you honestly believe this name would be even associated with our club  ??? You expect the same posters who constantly warned of this scenario unfolding seriously want to listen to the feelgood brigade now   ??? Rafa Benitez has gone enjoy your time engaging in mutual back slapping because the I told you so,s will be coming thick and fast........

And supporting our new manager, whoever that may be.

If were being overly pedantic then lets put  it in the context of qualifying for the Champions League shall we   ??? 2010 being the only relevant date in that respect ,but nevertheless well pointed out ......sharp as a tack ??? perhaps next time you can read the full post and maybe quell your keenness to highlight a mistake   ???

I mean you yourself made one when you believed things would set themselves right if the manager left the club  ??? now that was a complete howler
