24 well kicks the arse of anything in the same sort of mould as tv programmes go. The whole "real time" format means the story writers have to work really hard to make sure they don't just suddenly make on echaracter jump from one place to another like most other progs do. I haven't seen Prison Break so I can't say which is the better but my bet is 24 and Jack Bauer would piss all over prison break and anything else in it's way. :buttrock

Season 5 for me . We get deeper into Jack and the way the tension was seriously racked up with each passing hour in this series was unbelievable . Just when you thought "they can't top that " ......they did !  :D

I'd better say though that in no way are Seasons 2-5 shit in any way.  Seasons 2-5 probably still piss on anything else I've seen.

But Season 1 is the best season of 24 for me.  Then Season 5.  Season 5 took you to places you never thought possible in the realm of the show.  So many shocks, twists and surprises.  But nothing beats the Mother of all twists in Season 1.

I'm not giving away any spoilers by saying there is a twist in Season 1, by the way.  There's a twist in each episode to be honest that leaves you wanting to watch the next episode immediately (I've been known to lose days and weeks on '24' marathon viewing sessions), but when I say the Mother of all twists, when you watch Season 1 of 24, you'll know what I'm talking about.

This show is unbeatable for me.  Not even Lost which I'm obsessive about also comes close to it.

:D

And lets not forget on  "Friday Night with Jonathan Ross" Jack Bauer (aka Kiefer Sutherland) hinted at the possibility of "24 - the movie "  More Bucks ,More Bangs .  :D

For those of you that are not only into Jack Bauer but also have a growing respect for his alter ego Kiefer Sutherland , if you haven't already seen it look out for the movie FLASHBACK. I'm convinced this is where Kiefer began the long journey that turned him into Jack Bauer .His "agent name in this movie is JOHN BUCKNER (we know all agents change their name but often retain some link John Buckner/Jack Bauer ? )
I highly recommend the film to anyone who is a fan of Kiefer Sutherland and if thats not enough it co stars the genius that it Dennis Hopper.

Flashback

REVIEWS

All Movie Guide

A yuppie and a hippie are the offbeat pairing of this character comedy in the tradition of earlier mismatched buddy films such as Midnight Run (1988). Kiefer Sutherland is uptight, 26-year-old FBI agent John Buckner, who's been assigned to escort an aging counterculture radical hippie named Huey Walker (Dennis Hopper) to Oregon for trial on a charge that's decades old. Buckner finds Huey's lifestyle and beliefs irresponsible. Once the two are bound for their Pacific Northwest destination, Huey begins to play psychological mind games with the straight-arrow Buckner, convincing him that he's tripping on hallucinogenic drugs, getting him drunk, and setting him up with a hooker named Sparkle (Kathleen York). Huey trades places with his captor and soon a game of cat-and-mouse is afoot as the agent pursues the one-time radical, with surprising revelations abounding regarding Buckner's childhood and Huey's motivations for allowing himself to be captured. Flashback also stars Carol Kane, Cliff De Young, Richard Masur, Michael McKean, and Paul Dooley. Karl Williams

I thought season 1 followed by season 4. When I saw season 1 I thought it was the best TV I had ever seen, real gripping stuff

I know what your talking about there jonny, that twist at the end is quite possibly the best last minute twist ever thrown into any tv series or movie.  :wwww

I've just started watching series 5 this week after recording them all onto dvd to watch as often and when i want, i'm onto hour 6 and the plot twists are already leaving me wanting to watch more than i can in one go but there is one thing that has struck me this time 'round, the dialogue at some points is pretty cheesy. I don't know whether this is just 'cos i've recently watched 'Sleepercell' which had pretty strong language in for a tv series. Has anybody else sat there thinking wtf at some of the cheesy dialogue - especially between Jack and the two ladies in his life.
