awful news. He was a promising manager and a great bloke on all accounts.

Rip lad, you'll be missed by both reds and blues and there's not many players who command that.

awful news, and like the article linked earlier in the thread says, you dont think of physically fit athletes being struck like that with cancer. Horrible disease, in so many forms.
I read the article and it sounds particularly nasty what Gary got struck with. So young too.
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

I knew Gary personally, he lived in the same village as me and his kids go the the same school as mine. To say he was a nice bloke is an understatment, top top bloke more like it. My thoughts go out to his wife Jackie and his 3 kids. RIP mate.
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

Just assumed that his illness had cleared. 46 is no age to go out, not with a wife and three kids. Absolutely tragic.

RIP mate.

RIP. Heart goes out to his family
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road
