Yeah.. He will be one of the great, IMO.. But, he seems a bit of a defensive midfielder.. Ahakz.. Coz he likes to venture all the way to the halfway line and taking shots.. That's good too.. Cheers..

As good as Agger is, he will never be a direct replacement for Hyypia, as he is simply not aerially dominant.

If you look at his style, he's much more like Carragher in as much as he defends the second ball better than the first.

Paletta IS dominant in the air, and is far more aggressive than any of our defenders.

He's similar to Carragher in that respect, but more like Sami in the air.

In a nutshell, Agger has Carragher's defending style (Second ball defender), but Sami's mentality.

Paletta has Carragher's mentality and style, with a rough version of Sami's aerial ability in the mix aswell. He seems a bit of a beast, to be fair to the lad. I think Rafa is trying to get him to be a top-rate first ball defender, which is what Sami is now.

Basically, Agger's best partner out of JC and Sami is Sami all day long - they compliment each other. (Same with JC and Sami.)

Potentially, Agger and Paletta could be a better pairing then JC and Sami, as they compliment each other's basic strengths. Paletta seems better on the ball than our first choice pair aswell. (Will get better playing alongside Agger, who is fantastic with the ball for a young CB).

Agger, good defender. Needs a few more first team games to develop fully. I agree with Lando Griffin about his style of play being similair to carragher and hypia :;):

Agger is a good defender who does he's job well at the back. Aswel as defending, he can half hit them aiming at the goal at the other end! Quality player and needs to be played more. :p

He is putting a huge case forward to replace Sami at the bak when his time is up. some great performances already. Definately a great buy!

Definitely shows some promise, yet only time and experience will be able to reveal the extent of which.
Watch out for this tiger.. some good input.

i think agger is going to be a real force to be reckoned with if he carries on improving the way he has been doing! and he is very confident on the ball, can stop an attack and create one in one swift move! its good to see.
