Why we shouldnt be underdogs - Against juventus

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

hey all
ok, this may be in another thread, but theres too many to see and i think this is all very impotrant. Due to the lack of confidence from the british press alot of people are writing us off, but ive seen a lot of different aspects from the italian press and from guillem balague in spain. Let me explain what ive seen.

J uventus dont like pressure and they hate having to force the issue. This has been seen many times before and Juventus tend to sit back a lot more when playing away from home.
With the lvierpool fans in full flow liverpool should thrive on this sitting back juventus team and can rush forwards non stop.

Juventus have also been playing so successfully with a 443 selection, winning 6 of the last 8 games. Now Juventus are going 442 with a not 100% fit nedved.
This is bad for two reasons. firstly, with our 4 5 1 selection we can crowd out the midfield and also rnu the widths with relative ease hopefully. Secondly with Nedved not 100 %  fit he cant play his usal aggressive game of running non stop with the ball. Also, with nedved playing, Trezeguet has to sit on the bench, and that has to be good news for all.

Juventus also hate a physical game and nedved has already said that he doesnt like the look of playing a proper physcial game against liverpool.

Im not saying tis going to be easy. Gerard and Emerson are going to have noe of the ultimate immense midfield battles in recent years and juventus do have an extremely strong team but its not as clear as most people think, and i hope this makes people see the facts a little bit more.

Hope this didnt bore too many people :)

Its good to see some more posotivity, we can beat ANYONE on our day.

I was a little taken aback by the fact that Juventus have been playing 4 4 3 as you mentioned though !  :D

We all know that there are 2 faces to LFC this season. I'm pretty confident we will see a good performance from the boys tonight. I'm hoping Rafa will encourage them to get stuck in, press hard and rattle the Italians out of their stride. Being such big underdogs and listening to Juve players talk about themselves and a couple of other teams as the likely Champ League winners provides the team with added motivation to go out an win this one.

In fairness it's easy to see why we are underdogs, but favourites don't always come out on top. I actually think Juve are good enough to come to Anfield and put the tie to bed, but that their "Italian-ness" will dictate that they won't do that. No, I think they'll close up shop which suits us just fine. 0-0 or please God 1-0 is my prediction. Either way if we score in Turin we'll have a chance.

Winnable :)  Its essentaially the same Liverpool team that dominated both legs against Bayer and with the Kop in full flow the players will be lifted. When the KOP turn up it rarely if ever fails to get a response from the players .

I'm off to the game ,it's a dirty job but someones got to do it ....... wish me luck :D

Hi Dawson mate...I know it is a simple typo error :D (I did the same before) but what you say is quite true.

I do think the Reds will spring another surprise tonight. Whether we can do enough over both legs is another matter...not impossible but requires the entire XI to click from the go cause Juve will pick up and punish you on your weakness(es).

COME ****** ON YOU RED MEN we fear no one we are champs of europe, .
We can beat anyone on our day so lets hope its our day today, rafa has to tell the players they may never get this chance again to be so close.  Escpecially them getting shipped out might be there only chance of CL medal.
Are they better than chelsea? No I dont think so and we should have beat them new years day only for a dodgey ref and Alonso getting injured, and we would have beat them in the CC only for that own goal.

We can do this we are LIVERPOOL FC WERE BY FAR THE GREATEST TEAM THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
