It has been really frustrating watching the way L'pool played last season where most of the offensive fizzles out in the middle of the field and, I believe that's where it led to the long ball situation, in the hope of getting a lucky break. It was proven successful in 2001-2002 season but not a long term solution. No disrespect to DM and SG, both are quality players, but somehow there's a missing link in the middle of the park and we may need one, better still two world class midfielders to link the defense and attack. Not sure where we are going to get the funds but Mr. Parry will have to figure that out. The defense and attack came under heavy criticism last season but I don't see anything wrong in them where the former was overworked due to the ineffective defensive play by the midfielders while the forwards were starved of supply. We'll need someone in the mould of Pablo Aimar whom has the vision for a killer pass and to defend effectively.
Your opinion pls.
