Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

the club has huge debts and must sell.  I can see Benitez + Ayala + Aimar all coming in.  Proven quality players who will cut the mustard :)

who says they have huge debts?

I'd rather take Baraja and Valente.

it's well documented in Spain that Valencia are 50million in the red, so i say their loss should be our gain ???

There plenty of big clubs in debt (wont name them all now) but their creditors wont be angry after league and UEFA Cup win which will bring in a lot of cash.

well according to the Spanish press (and some English) there are going to be some big name sales from Valencia.  My G/F is Spainish and gets a couple of her 'local' rags to read.  So, maybe i'm putting 2+2 and making 5, but i reacon we get their manager, we get their players...........I hope  ???

i also read about this today that valencia have huge debts and that alaya and aimar are heading our way, benitez is sure to be lfcs new manager and would easily persuade both of these 2 players to come to us

but suppose we'll just have to wait and see !

Yup it has been stated but no point getting exited just yet.

I thought i'd read that they were £75 million in the red.

The players mentioned would be huge additions but i can't see Valencia losing a manager to us and there two most important players!

aimar can't even get in the valencia team on a regular basis. he's been on the bench a lot recently.

Valencia have massive debts but the problem was more urgent than 12 months ago as they lost Champions League football.

I'd say the problem should be ok now and I'd be surprised by any fire sales.

As an aside, did anyone see Barcelona's comment today saying that they would love to sign a few Premiership players but simply cannot afford Premiership wages?

How times have changed!

They do have massive debts - inexcess of £70 million- but its hard to tell how they are doing at the gates. Every home game has a declared attendance of 45000 except the Real and Barca games which are always 53000 - can't believe the same guys turn up every time.
The players do seem to be the real McCoy though.

Ayala & Aimar are pure class whenever I watch La Liga or European matches. I say if we do get Benitaz, there is a big probability he might persuade some players to join.

Anyone knows why Aimar is not a regular at Valencia? Form? Formation? Injuries?
