Tottenham v liverpool - Our next game and an important one

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

If we take a point at Spurs its a good point. To be honest I cant see us taking 3 so it will be a surprise to me. We have a lot of convincing to do on the road, our performance at Middlesbrough was dissapointing enough. Spurs are different class to Boro. We will need to be at our very best to take the points in this encounter but the form book does not really give us much hope.

Agree.  Spurs looks like a very decent team this year and will be making top 6 if they keep on with this form and improvement.  On the other hand we didn't make any convincing performance over the last few games.  I will be happy with 1 pt from the white hart lane.

We'll beat spurs easy, I think we should play a 4-4-2 with cisse and crouch up front.

I agree with jonny there. A draw will be good, Tottenham are a strong side, and we won't ba as lucky as Chelski to have a 1 man bonus.
Lads will have to work twice hard to get a win :blues:

i also think a draw will be a good result.
i think it will be a score draw. i am not going to try and guess the line-up for spurs. there is no point imo.
it will be great to actually see some football now all this transfer bull sh*t is over!

I don't think Rafa will play 4-4-2 as he plays more defensive away from home with Crouch up front and try to at least secure the draw and hopefully get a goal on a counter. I would think 2-1 or 1-0 to Liverpool.

Banter, there will be spurs supporters reading this.

Use any material to mock them !.

(But I will admit I didn't put much effort into this one.  i usually add a one liner)

I would prefer a 4-5-1 system. Simple fact is that if there are any errors in midfield there are more bodies to get back quickly and recover. It also means when it comes to attacking we will be more dominant in posession.

Main task is to contain Davids, this guy always put in 100% and never gets tired.
Anyone has news whether kewell will be back?

if we have aspirations of doing anything in the league this season these are the games we have to win. it's no good saying that a draw is good enough, especially as we're already eight points behind chelsea. most of the press have been w#nking over spurs this season saying that they're gonna be pushing for a CL place. we need to put an end to that myth at white hart lane. ok spurs have got some very good players but i think that our stongest eleven is better.

                                       reina

            finnan     carragher      hyypia      warnock

                            sissoko          alonso

            garcia                 gerrard                 riise

                                     crouch

we've looked quite decent defensively in the first two league games but we'll have to seriously be on our guard against defoe. i think it'll be a good chance to prove how vital crouch will be for us this season. our midfielders, especially gerrard should thrive making runs off him.

As long as we contain Davids until half time we should be ok. Martin Jol has 8 midfielders now and will for sure make changes at half time. Yes Davids can stilll play but with age goes stamina and id expect him to be replaces at half time by Jenas or someone.
