its easy to make him stay, they can reject any bid, but whats worrying is that if the player himself is committed and professional about it to continue playing.

i cant see him going this window,  i reckon a deal will probably be done to wait till the summer and look at it again.

who knows whats been going on recently, we have no CEO in place and kenny is busy with team affairs, maybe the fact we looked like doing nothing in the window brought this on, does anybody know if the transfer request was put in after the Suarez deal was announced, i know it was announced to us that way.

maybe im clutching but you never know things can change.

The club said on the website last night that the transfer request in writing was issued last night. I think Torres has reached the point where even the Suarez deal was too little too late.

I don't have much time for PLayers who hand in tfr requests who don't want to play for the club.

if I was the chief Executive at LFC, tommorow morning i would be on the phone naming chelsea a minimum price for torres. 50m Cash.

then sell him without thinking twice. he aint robbie fowler, prolific, drops his head a lot, and has no left foot. he rarely scores from outside the box, or unless you play the ball right in front of him 8 yards out. he aint the complete article, or as good as David villa.

If he wants out, just get on with it and sell, and stop holding the club back.

50m in cash, then we bid 25m for Andy Carroll to partner suarez, a decent winger/ midfielder (8m for adam), and a centre back. or hows about Shaun Wright-philips anyone?

Personally, I'm really glad you are NOT our chief exec!!!

Carroll....SWP? ???

Torres isn't the complete article? ???

Are you a CFC WUM???

We may not need Wright-Philips but Andy Carroll looks fine to me. He's a good striker, he's young and he's English. He's scored about 10 goals so far this season. But he'll never come cheap, heard Newcastle want 30 mill for him   :Oo:

Petermcdowall10    Just spoke to Guillem Balague, he says FT is frustrated at speed of new owners making changes,at 27 he thinks it could come too late for him

--

new owners too slow? - this is their first transfer window, and we've spent £22m on a partner for him... and the windows not closed yet!

Wasn't Broughton quoted last summer by Charlotte Jackson from Sky as saying that with Torres reaching nearly 27 this was it for him as to his future? It goes back to my earlier post about Purslow. I think the club would have let him go last summer had he handed in a written transfer request. Torres looked at it and with his injury just before the world cup and that Gerrard had decided to stay thought he'd give it another six months.

I think it's best for us to keep him at least till the summer. It gives us 6 months to scout around for a replacement too.
