Without a doubt. Finnan has been a revelation this season. We have been crying out for a attacking rightback for a while & this season he has done well. Its no coincidence that once finnan is back, our defence looks more "like a good defence should look".

I think with riise back to leftback, the combination of finnan, carra, hyppia, riise is pretty good.

If we can replace hyppia with a world class centre-back, we would be awesome.

Steve Finnan cost £2m didn't he? Even if he cost £8m he would be worth every penny. He's been a revelation both at the back and on the wing. We don't mention him enough and I think he's the only player who hasn't suffered a dip in form this season. Stevie F gets my thumbs up.

Get real. He is an average player that's all. All premiership teams have Finnan's in their sides.

Look, all our other players have had blips or have failed to perform at some points this season. Stevie F has been the only player who has looked "solid". Even Stevie G and JC have had moments when they looked off-form and at the end of the day, SF hasn't. Okay, he's not Figo or Beckham, Salgado or Thuram, but he does his job and he does it well. At the end of the day, that's all you can ask for.

He is the sort of player all the great LFC teams of the past had.  A guy who doesn't crave attention, a guy who just gets on with the job in hand, a real worker.  Every team in the premiership would love a player like Finnan.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Finnan is very average, there is no doubt he has improved alot this season, but as one of you lot said £8m would have been money well spent!!!

Do you lot even go the games? Finnan isn't what Liverpool want, he can fill a void for the time being as other areas need filling first. He isn't brilliant or anything, he can't even tackle for once, his sh its out of 50-50's.

I'll say it again, he has improved, but he still isn't good enough
He comes from Spain and he doesn't speak good English,
But we don't care cos he'll turn us into winners,
The European Cup will be ours before he's finished,

Very harsh.  Finnan is having a great season.  Hes doing his job consistently well without any fuss.  If Phil Neal, Joey Jones and Alan Kennedy etc. had played in "average" Liverpool teams they probabaly wouldn't have looked as good.  They were fortunate that they played in eras with Hansen, Thompson, Lawrenson etc with them in the back line.  I'm not trying to take from the contributions our full backs made in the '70's and '80's but when it's more difficult for a guy to join a club in turmoil (Houlliers last season) and slot in at full back and look top class.

I've seen Finnan for years, he has never let Ireland down just like Irwin didn't and he never got headlines either. Rock solid. A good full back doesn't win games for you but a bad one loses them.

Finnan has improved this season. His first season was a bit of a disaster but prior to coming to us he was voted best right back in the Premiership. He ins now getting back to that level.

He is a proven Premiership and International player and to call him average is rubbish. Who in the premiership would you swap him for?

times have changed, many were saying that finnan was meant to be going at the end of the season and now he is rock solid, im made up for the lad i just wish he got back up quicker after being tackled, he seems more affected than others in physical games, i dont know what it is with him
