Any ideas as to why there has been no official announcment yet!   Could it be that the club are waiting for other business to conclude and then announcing that as well!!!!

Most likely waiting for the home office to issue a work permit.

Very happy with this, this kid has so much potential, he could be a massive player for us.

If he sticks around long enough.

The one worry I have about young players with "potential" is that once that potential begins to blossom if LFC aren't by then already achieving they'll be off .

Sorry woof, but based on what or who?

If we somehow manage NOT to get him, heads surely need to roll.

Starting with Ayre and Werner. F**king useless.......  :no

You are f*cking useless aren't you?

Do some research for once.

Coutinho needs a work permit but as he has only played once for his national side he is not eligible for one, therefore the club have to make a special application to the home office. Which takes time.

Clueless idiot.

Please guys, I know we're all in a bad mood following the Oldham defeat and humiliation. But please if we need to correct or inform someone, don't make any personal attacks. Just tell him where he's wrong (if you think he is) and what he doesn't know.

Best of luck to him.

Seems like another lightweight technical player when we could probably do with some steal in the midfield.

hav to agree with that, i think we need some physical players in the middle, shelvey and gerrard are the only player capable of battling with someone and beating them,,, but lets hope coutinho takes the league by storm,,,, come on coutinho #10....

Jeezuz Babu, you sound as though you've never heard of a young player building his reputation at one club before moving on to a more successful club.

Here's a couple you might have heard of.

Marco Van Basten joined Ajax aged 17, left aged 23 to join AC Milan

Zinedine Zidane joined Bordeaux aged 20 left aged 24 to join Juventus

Frank Lampard joined West Ham aged 16 left aged 23 to join Chelsea

Didier Drogba joined Le Mans aged 19 left aged 24 for a year at Giungamp (?) a year at Marsielles and then onto to Chelsea

The point I'm trying to make is that if Coutinho is that good who could be a "massive" player for us unless we as a club are performing along with the elite we'll find it hard to hang on to him or other special players.

This could turn out to be a very good bit of business if he fulfills his potential.

I can't help but fear he might not adapt to the physicality of the Premiership, but in reality it's not as physical as it used to be, football is fast becoming a non contact sport anyway!

I think if he plays wide forward or off a front man his size won't matter much.  Our 'soft centre' reputation basically comes from playing Allen central midfield.  I'm coming to thinking that Allen looked better as the defensive midfielder where he could receive the ball from defence, set the tempo, pass and defensively could make interceptions.  With Lucas coming back he has been pushed further up into the midfield skirmishes, where he just gets bossed due to his tiny frame.  I wonder if it's worth swapping him and Lucas to be honest, at least Lucas is up for a scrap.

Van Basten 6 years
Zidane 4 years
Lampard 7 years
Drogba 5 years
If he stays as long as these and does the business then I will be happy

Another body in for the attacking positions keeps the rest of them on their toes and competition
for places is something we have lacked for a few years now and its not healthy.

I mean I know nothing about this lad and just hope he settles in quick and shows us what
he can do because its one thing having ability and quite another bringing that to the game
consistently enough to satisfy a club like Liverpool.

Thats the challenge for him and wish him all the best.

Of course you will, with a smile on your dial you'll maybe even drive him to the airport as he heads for Spain.
