I know mate - the worst thing is the mindless sheep following it along ( from our own supposed "fans" )

this kind of attitude does nothing to help. Dismissing valid concerns that true supporters of the club have regarding this issue makes YOU seem like the hypocrite.

Suarez fcked up a number of times as did Kenny with regards to this whole fiasco and some degree of blame and responsibility should be placed upon them.

Just because ManUtd are classless kunts doesnt mean it excuses us following suit.

im sorry so what if suarez didnt shake hands with evra, if suarez was racist why did he shake hands with rio, welbeck??? its a personal thing that suarez dont like evra for lying about the whole thing in the first place. and liverpool didnt appeal coz the stupid fa threatened with a longer ban if we did !!! therefore putting our chance at 4th place in doubt !!

John Barnes just gave a good interview on SSN. And he also talked about the role the media has played in this, constantly throwing fuel on the fire. Everyone is just going to have to put their heads down and concentrate on performing on the pitch.

Some good posts, opinions and points. Truth is I don't care what others think of us. This is the EXACT point. The media already had us down as racists. Yesterdays 'refused handshake' no matter the facts and details of it wasn't the cause of this. It really is backs to the walls stuff. All we as fans can do is unite and stay strong in this media-frenzy. The fact though is that Saurez yesterday stood by his beliefs. There was no song and dance, no gloating, no racial abuse. He simply chose not to shake Evra's hand. That's his right.

As for our reputation well we aint mancs or chavs are we? Are we gonna hound out our player because Fergie calls disgrace on him? Hell NO! What on earth would THAT do to our reputation? Come the end of this I hope our reputation will be as it always was...

...that we don't walk alone, because we have pride, and we have hope, and we have belief, because we are Liverpool Football Club and we stand by our own. Suarez feels wronged. Many, many of us agree including legend Kenny Dalglish who is also our manager. We must stand together in the face of everything that will come to us.

That's our reputation.

That, or we can take Fergie's advice and sell this "disgrace" who happens to be one of the best players to play for us in recent times.

I wonder why Fergie dosen't want Luis at Anfield? Is it because Luis is racist? Or because he's awesome?

Stand strong and our reputation will be unharmed.

Can you imagine if someone had told Fergie to sell Ferdinand after his drug ban?

Or Cantona after the kung-fu kick?  :D  How about Rooney after the granny-sh*gging?

For myself I think that shaking Evra's hand would have been the "politically correct" thing for Suarez to do, he obviously didn't and as anticipated the reaction from the press has been nothing short of hysterical as has the reaction from some fans.

I would have thought he would rather discuss the cat from the Spurs game and how it reminded him of his cringe worthy performance on Big Brother ?  ???

Its all a bit childish really from Evra, Suarez, Kenny and Fergie. Of course the media jump on it becuase they're desparate for a story.

Bottom line, everyone, particularly Fergie wants to kicl Liverpool when they're down to make sure they dominate for a few years longer.

Once again.... I hope this doesn't affect our sponsership deals, stadium name rights prospects and all that shi'te.

Bottom line though, Suarez really is a silly kunt for acting in such a childish manner. So predictable.

Agree woof...Gary Neville appears to be the only one with any modicum of reality in the media circus....  a handshake. Even some of our own plastic fans or newkit WUM's are over reacting...
Politically correct or not, if you feel you have been well and truly stitched up by a liar and a cheat and then fed to the media like a lamb to the slaughter by a corrupt FA, then to shake the hand of that piece of sh.it takes some forgiveness...Looking at the pictures it does appear that Evra dropped his hand further back so Luis would have to reach out for it...

excellent opening post, DD

i'm appalled by what i've been reading all over the press, other football forums and what i've been hearing on the street. the vast majority have us down as a laughing stock or even a hateful club, our manager as a witless and misguided idiot and our star player as a disgrace to football. the club's name hasn't been seen in a worse light since certain events of the 1980s.

i think that the way the original suarez and evra incident was handled by the media and the FA was an absolute pile of dogshít, hysteria built on suppositions and misinformation. the problem is that since then some incredibly naive behaviour from both kenny and suarez has only served to make it even worse. we rail against the ridiculous stereotype of being 'whingeing scousers' who complain about everything and that nothing is ever our fault. well, everybody has all the ammunition they need now, mainly thanks to the management and the reaction of a large section of the fans.

there were so many better ways to handle this without giving ground in our belief that luis was stitched up, sadly we opted not to use any of them.

not such an over reaction really. financial rackets like sponsorship deals and naming rights are becoming mainstays of economical and sporting success of the modern football club. this in a world that is becoming increasingly PC. brands are more and more wary of even the slightest possibility of tarnishing their name by associations with other brands that the public deem 'bad' by whatever definition. truth and public perception are often a million miles apart as we know all too well.
