So would I mate cos Neville is a fukwit who I'd sooner see dead than in a Liverpool shirt. Still a very good player though.

Man Utd are a better team then us.  come on people just look at the league table.  It is hard too admit but there quality of football is better than ours also.

Yes in Cup competitions we are as good as anyone but over a season we are not on that level yet.

Anyone who doesnt rate Ronaldo needs there head testing.  the guy is awesome.  he has one bad game vs Milan and some people saying he not that great.  you would love him in a liverpool shirt!!

I honestly dont think there is much between finnan and neville, especially this season. In fact, Neville has made a few very dodgy mistakes and on the whole finnan has been solid.

Id say Reina is better than Van Der sar, and DEFINATELY has age on his side. The midfield is much of a muchness (scholes is class but cant tackle, never has, never will, giggs great season but how much longer can he keep it going? they cant rely on carrick and fletcher) . but in attack its embaressing

The liverpool team of 2007 is way much better than the liverpool team of 2005.

So u go and figuare it out......

Exactly. And, shoot me down for saying this, but i think Stevie got Rafa out of jail in Istanbul. Rafa's tactics and selection weren't working in the first half, and Kaka ran riot. That won't happen this time.

BTW, nice work Rafa-Dodd on the MM site.

Man Utd are the better team because they are eighteen points better in the Premiership. No dispute, absolutely no argument, to quote some other posters, "end of".

Having said that, if my life depended on it and I had a choice of liverpool or Man Utd playing for me against Milan in the Champions League I'd take us every time. Much as I have roundly criticised the manager for his ridiculous over rotation policy which cost us any chance of competing for the Premiership after six games this season, in Europe there is no question he is the master. Anybody who can win the Champions League with a team which often included Traore, Baros, Biscan etc etc is nothing short of a fecking genius in my book.

Against Milan this time though will be difficult. I think we're a much better team than we were then, and they're probably not quite as good as they were. That said, they certainly massively under-estimated us last time (particularly after our cunning ruse of letting them take a 3-0 half-time lead :D ) and that ain't gonna happen again. If we don't score first in the final, I think we are going to find it very tough.

I agree almost all the post of Bigmick but I have two slight buts.

One, I don't think Milan AC understimated us. A team that has solved 0-3 in the half time IN A FINAL (which by definition has everyone motivated) means that they went to the pitch with clear ideas.

But then the goal came, and the "Football is an state of mind" phrase applied to the pitch. We started to believe, they started to fear. And then football showed why is a lovely game. The miracle happened. But I didn't see underestimation anywhere, to be honest.

That final will have side effects in this one. One, they'll have a revenge mood. Extra motivation. But then in a final every team is motivated and that can be a burden. Two, if they get a 2-0 and we score, doubts will raise in their heads. They won't help it, because they're humans.

The other "but" is about who's the better team. By having more points in the league you show you're good and constant, but in an individual game, you can't tell. I for one, didn't see a better team when they won 0-1 in Anfield. It sounds Mourinho-esque and bitter, but trust me, it's not: I really think we were better than them in that game, just as I think they were better in Old Trafford.

True Judgy mate can't argue with that one  :D Still, as long as they don't score then I'd back Reina to save a couple of pens. I was actually thinking this morning that in some respects its a bit of a shame that Reina is so accomplished at the old penalty shootouts, if he wasn't you could just bring Dudek on with 15  seconds to go in extra time (I definatey wouldn't trust him for any longer than that) to do his wobbly goalie routine. I reckon that'd feck with their heads good and proper.

The two things that have been the difference between us and the mancs this season have been Ronaldo, and Rafa's lack of understanding of how important a good start in the Premiership is.

Almost every time Ronaldo has played poorly this season in a game, United look a totally different outfit. He is involved in pretty much every goal they score in one way or another and you can see how much better they are with him on the field by the amount of times we've seen him come off the bench and get them out of trouble.

As for Rafa and his strange rotation tactics, I hope he has learned for next season that for the first 5 or so games he needs to play the best team available and not to start rotating until the players' confidence is high. One thing is certain and that is to not play the likes of Fowler, Zenden and Kromkamp in the opening game of the season against a newly promoted side.

Next season lets just hope that we are European Champs so that we don't have to play any qualification games that may interfere with preseason plans.

I dont rate milan at all, I think they are worse than 2 years ago. They looked impressive against utd because utd bottled it. I think if the milan team of 2 years ago played that utd side they would have won by many more. Whatever acts of revenge they say the simple fact is when they get on that pitch in Athens, they will be cautious and bricking themself because they will know from past experience give Liverpool an inch and they WILL take a mile ! Also this Liverpool team is much better than 2 years ago in all departments.

you have got to realise how strong we are becoming as a team the only place we now lack is a striker that can put away all the chances we make . especially against the lower teams which is were it costs us most. when we start doing that the premership will be ours. not far away i think
