Kirkland out on loan - What the hell are we doing?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Coventry have offered Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland the chance to return to his former club on loan.
The 23-year-old, who joined Liverpool for £6m in August 2001, has struggled with injuries since arriving at Anfield and has lost his place to Jerzy Dudek.

Sky Blues chairman Mike McGinnity said: "We'd get a quality keeper and if we can get him playing regularly he's more likely to get a call-up for England."

Coventry will get an extra £250,000 if Kirkland earns a full England cap.

Kirkland has started just 15 league games in the four years since his move from Highfield Road.

He has long been considered one of the most talented goalkeepers in England, but a broken finger, cracked wrist and a serious knee injury have hindered his progress.

Kirkland was called into the England squad for the recent friendly against the Ukraine at St James' Park, but injury has meant him missing out on selection for the games against Austria and Poland.

I maen for god's sake, he recovers from injury and we offer him out on loan. it's madness. dudek's having a nightmare at the moment.

Read it again - we haven't offered him to anybody. It's all Coventry talking as far as I can tell.

Just been on radio that the bid to take him on loan has been rejected as we would not have enough goalkeeper cover at the club, that was from RAFA himmself
Chopper:Look, you're not still angry at me about the leg, are you?
Neville Bartos : Nah, forget about it.
Chopper : Because I don't know if you remember, Neville, but I had that bloody shotgun pointed at your head. I reconsidered and dropped it down to your kneecap. Remember?

He is our best keeper when fit so I doubt he is going anywhere.

Did anyone see luton rejected our approach for their young keeper called Brill.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

Have you stole St Michaels log in or are you a schytzo?

Your usual calm well thought out aproach to posting (see the stevie g captain thread) is interuppted by sensationalist rubbish like this.

The Coventry chairman has mentioned, probably tounge in cheek as it would mean more money for them if he played regular and got the england cap, that he would like Kirky on loan.

I heard my Sunday league manager say he could do with Ian Rush playing for us, are you now going to start a thread about Rushies return from retirement to play for the coach and horses ? ? ?
