Josemi,a concern

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The former Malaga defender looked solid in the pre-season and at the very begining of 04/05 EPL season. In the recent 3-4 games the Spaniard has been doing a poor job on the right side that has led to the opposition scoring.

Two weeks ago Josemi's mistake led to a Blackburn goal. He was too busy looking whether the ref was going to call an offside or not to actualy stop the Blackburn player who outran him, passed the ball which led to a goal.

Today he was the reason why we conceeded two goals. He was out of position and once again busy looking whether its an offside or not. He is a concern because next week we face Boro, playing Josemi will be a huge risk in a game like that and I am worried whether Benitez is going to play him or not. I prefer Stephen Finnan until Josemi gets his head out of the gutter otherwise we might be conceeded an average of 2 goals a game.

Agreed, but he plays on the right, not the left.

NO HE PLAYS AS A FORWARD
[/sarcasm]

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that. When watching the game the right flank is left to the viewers.

The point is, he ****** up.

I agree 100% .. the last 5 goals we conceded has all been because of his sloppy defending .. U feel that the guy is lost like if he never played footbal .. Give Finnan a chance he deserves it ..

What channel do you watch the game on, they show the pitch side on i'm sure of it, well they did last time i watched football on tv...

So by your theory, is he's a top back, then becomes a bottom back in the second half?

14 year old child? Who the hell you think you're talking to?

What channel I watch it on? I watch it on Sky Sports. Sky Sports "pundits" said that our left side was weak, Josemi in particular. Meaning that Josemi was weak on the right flank.

When you watch the game on TV the right flank is your left side depending where the opposition goal is. It's not a "theory".

Do I have to spell out everything for you or perhaps paint you a picture so you can comprehend simple things?

The right back position is a problem, Finnan was weak there last season, remember the goals Portsmouth scored aginst us. When Josemi lets his man get behind him, it then pulls Carragher out of position trying to cover, leaving a gap in the centre.
Josemi needs a 25 yd rope attached to his ankle with the other end attached to a tent peg driven into the corner of the penalty box, so that he can't push up the field too far. :;):
