My 2 cents, if you would allow me.

First of all, what meelan has done is absolutely unacceptable. I do believe that he might just be a young kid in his early 10s.

However, I really object to his PM being pasted all over the forum. Why? That's because PMs are meant to be private. Though educating the masses in here would be good, what woof has done is to unknowingly give Meelan the cheap thrill that he is seeking. For cases like this, the PM should be forwarded straight to the mods for them to take care of the matter, which they are more than capable of.

In short, by giving meelan the publicity he seeks, it is only encouraging other posters to seek their 5 mins of fame this way.

Totally disagree with your perspective . Why on earth should abuse  of this nature be swept under the carpet ? . In no way was the sender "seeking a cheap thrill " via publicity" as you put it ,if that was indeed the case he would have posted his garbage in the open forum , perhaps he realised what our reaction would be if we saw such filth and thats why he chose to pm it.

If the original pm had been reported to the mods and the sender had been subsequently banned some people in here (you possibly may have been one of them ) would be asking "What happenend to  Meelan 5 ,? he doesn't post in here anymore     "

I think it's important that scum are exposed and that members in this forum are aware of what goes on in here .

Perhaps you think that rapists and peadophiles should also have their deeds kept secret ,after all the neighbours might have thought "he was a bit quirky ,but harmless "

I am (maybe) a little bit more heavy handed than the other mods and if it was up to me, I would be a bastard and just get rid of trouble makers immediately.  But when a decision like this needs to be made, don't think for one second that we don't discuss it properly and everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet.  I can't just go over the other lads heads.  I can't just ban people.  We (the mods) need to communicate first and make a decision together.  In the past when I have had to act quickly without discussing it with the other lads first, I have always explained my actions to them in detail.  And they will tell you that themselves.

I have spoken to all the mods today bar JBG and LFC.  And we are all in agreement up to now that this prick is history.  As soon as LFC logs on, we will speak to him about barring his IP number and e-mail address.  And we can only warn him up to a point as well.  He's got four at the moment if I'm not mistaken.  You've still got to give people a chance.  Banning has to be the last resort.  Unfortunately, he has used all his chances up today and he's now become a big problem.  We will sort it though.

That's all we can do up to now.

i don't see how?  My main point is, people like hustler get banned...then return 5-6 times with different ID's, simply to cause trouble.  Surely after 3 id's have been banned a IP ban is in order?

I'm not saying ban people for 1 mistake.....i'm saying ban people who have no reason to be here but to cause trouble.
