Ive translated this. mmmmmmmm........... interesting.

Extract from AS interview by Ruben Martin.

You have many years of football left.  All of them here or do you see yourself playing outside of Spain?

It could be, because im attracted to other big leagues like the english or the italian.  Time will tell.  Right now i can tell you that im very comfortable here in Villarreal but, like everyone else, i like other people speaking well of me.

Your name has been linked to teams like Manchester Utd or Benitez's Liverpool.

Those are things that flatter me.  Honestly, all of this is beautiful, but until May 29th when we play our last league game against Levante, im commited to this club and i rather think about this.  What happens after that we'll deal with later.

But i dont hear you talking about June 2012, thats when your contract expires.  You always talk about next June. Why?

Because you have to go year to year, althought it is true that i have a contract with Villarreal until june 2012.

Are you planning to see out this contract or leave before?

I dont know.  maybe yes, maybe not.  I can only assure you that im going to finish this season "in yellow", nothing else.

Has Pepe Reina or his representative spoken with Liverpool, which seems to be the most interested team in you?

That is something i'm keeping to myself.

He's a good young keeper. With dudek faltering in every match and kirklands injury problems, we only have carson who is unexperienced. I have heard speculation that he could be on his way to anfield.

If u sign this player ur gonna improve a lot...watching some of LFC´s matches from here I think some of ur defensive problems come from the lack of trust ur goalkeeper sends to the defence line. Reina is one of the best goallies of La Liga and its sure that he is going with the national team to next World Cup (if we manage to qualify??? ) along with Casillas.

No, he was selled to Villarreal as part of the Belleti deal.

Reina would be an excelent sign for LFC, i'm sure, specially watching the problems that liverpool have with goalkeepers this season. Every time i see the Cannavaro's goal last nigth i'm brokenhearted, it could be easily a 2-0 victory and we would be now so close to semifinals

I havent seen that much of Reina as everytime sky show la liga football its nearly always Barca or Real, but the comments made by spaniards on this site are promising. Still not sure whether it would be better to go with a more experienced keeper as Carson needs time, Kirkland is forever injured and Dudek will be sold. We should try and test Chelsea into selling Cudicini...he has been linked with Roma and looks like he will go at the end of the season.

From BBC Website -

Valencia reveal interest in Baros

Milan Baros career statistics
Valencia president Juan Soler has told a Spanish radio station he is in talks with Liverpool striker Milan Baros.
"We are negotiating with the Czech (Baros) and with four or five players of the same quality," he told Radio 9.

"These players are from Europe and South America and we are trying to do things in plenty of time, both with Baros and with the others."

Baros, 23, was the leading scorer at Euro 2004 but has struggled this season and scored 13 goals for the Reds.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez led Valencia to the Spanish league title last season before moving to Anfield.

He has been linked with going back to his former club to sign Pablo Aimar or Ruben Baraja and a swap deal could be in the pipeline.

But, with Valencia challenging for a Champions League place, Soler refused to elaborate on any possible ins and outs.

He added: "Some of the players who are coming are going to replace those who are already here, so it is for the best that we do not speak too much about the subject.

"I don't want the team to lose concentration as we aim for our objective of returning to Europe."

How good are Pablo Aimar and Ruben Baraja compared to the players we've got in their positions?

Sorry for my previous comment in Spanish...it was just for the rest of ppl not to find out im defending Raul lol (hes been hardly criticized here).
As for Aimar and Baraja..just saying that both, along with Ayala at the defence line were the axis of last league champion. Aimar could do really well playing just before Morientes...great movements, really skillful and hard worker (similar to the best Juninho u could see playing for Boro years ago). As for Baraja...in my opinion hes not playing as well as previous seasons (actually he has deserved to lose his position within the national team), I think that position is perfectly covered with Xabi and Steve but, if in the end they sell Gerrard, Baraja could be a good replacement for him, hes a very good player (more similar to Gerrard than Alonso) but he is simply on a bad season.
