EPL predictions 23/24

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby redshade » Tue Aug 08, 2023 12:40 am

Well why not ay....

It depends though on any last min buys but currently this is my prediction.

1. Man City (by 10 points minimum)
2. Arsenal
3. Liverpool (or United)
4. Man utd
5. Chelsea
6. Tottenham (If Kane goes then Newcaslte

FA CUP - Man City
LEAGUE CUP - Arsenal
UCL - Real Madrid
EUROPA - Liverpool

Any other predictions I've missed you can add on...

Man City will run away with it, I'm sure by Jan/Feb they'll be well adrift.

Arsenal are strong in every department and will give it a shot but participation in UCL will hinder their title challenge.

We seem weak defensively so I can't see a title challenge. However I think we'll win Europa.

Man United are unpredictable, I think their new signings will flop, especially the new striker.

Chelsea under Poch may surprise us all but I'm not convinced.

Newcastle will struggle this season with UCL adventure.

One prediction is certain that there will be a lot of goals in our matches. I predict a lot of 4-3 score lines this season.

Our Europa league campaign will reflect the confidence (or lack of it) of our league performances.
We'll be forced to bring in 2 major January signings to steady the ship.
City and Arsenal will come 1st and 2nd, Spurs will have an awful season, Chelsea will come 3rd due to LFC/United not competing.
Newcastle will come 4th and United 5th.
LFC will come 6th or 7th having lost way too many points before Christmas as the youngsters took time to mature into their roles.
Villa, Brentford and Brighton will be strong also rans.

We will spend most of it outside top 4 hoping that everything falls into place for a run at the end.  Just think we have too much reliance on the youth on top of having a few prone to injury. I think we will end up playing players we wouldn't normally due to klopp flogging the 1st 11 till it breaks.

Defensively we are going to concede and I'm not sure we will be so fluid the other end against better opposition and defences. Just score more than the others is a stupid tactic and doesn't address the weaknesses.

It will be a struggle again to make the top 4 and the team can't afford another poor start.
4th/5th depending on the start

Caicedo could be a season changer... let's hope so. He's certainly a step up from Hendo!

No point in starting another thread for league discussion so il post it here.

The next international break is roughly 4 weeks away and we have some tough games bringing us up to that.

West Ham
Spurs
Brighton
Everton

12 points there will be some going.

Another 2 games in the Europa plus a game in the league Cup in there as well so going to get a chance to use the squad fully.

There will be no easy games all season.  4 very tough games, 12/16 points would be a good outcome, 3 points against Sours and Brighton would be very useful.

Tough games Indeed, apart from Everton all other teams can give us one heck of a challenge.

Our next 3 league matches will not be easy.

Spurs and Brighton away will probably be two of toughest matches we face all season.

I'd be content with 10 points, with a draw against Brighton away.

It’s nice to have that in the locker but we should not be counting on it. Ideally we win with a clean sheet. It’s not so much we are conceding a goal, it’s more that when we start matches we seem to be all over the place defensively, happily they have gotten it together by the second half but we do seem to start slow.

Yup I agree against a well structured side we could get punished.
We don't want to be chasing games often, comfortable victories will do nice for most of the time lol.
