Liverpool Striker Cisse In Crash With Police Car
Published on 28/08/2004

Liverpool FC striker Djibril Cisse was left “shaken but uninjured” after he was involved in a crash with a police car, the club said today.

The 23-year-old French player was driving to training in his black Dodge 4x4 when it was in collision with a police car in the Childwall area of Liverpool.

The police car, which had its flashing lights and sirens on, was attending the scene of a hit-and-run accident.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said Cisse suffered slight rib injuries but refused hospital treatment.

Cisse became a record signing for Liverpool when he joined the club from Auxerre for £14m last month.

Hopefully he will be ok else we are in trouble :-S

The plaster was to cover up one of his many piercings apparently he has an albert too. what gets me tho is who crashed into who surely cisse could see the flashing lights and the coppers could hardly miss cisses car its like a tank.
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.

Liverpool hope Djibril Cissé will be fit to play in tomorrow's game at Bolton after he was involved in a traffic accident with a police car.

The France international was driving his Dodge van to training yesterday when he collided with a marked police vehicle responding to an emergency call near the club's Melwood training complex. Although he refused medical treatment to a slight rib injury at the scene, he was inspected by the Liverpool team doctor and trained as normal.

The two police officers involved sustained minor neck injuries. "At the time of the collision the police vehicle was using its emergency claxons and blue lights," said a spokesperson for Merseyside Police. "A full and thorough investigation will now be carried out."

Police cars with flashing sirens are often leathel weapons on the road... some people have been seriously hurt by siren flashing bobby cars...

Cisse's lucky and so are we that he ain't got more plaster ..on his body and out for 6 months +.. :)

I bet the bobby driving the car was a bluenose...  :D
