Souness got rid of the boot room in the early 90s...the history can be found in books and on the above link.

and it was all down hill from there. The boot-room was where the tactics and formations and strategies were thought out . It was a place where the intimidation of the opposition began and ended . The whole Liverpool philosophy on the playing side was born in the boot-room . Plans were laid out and thought through , conversations were had regarding the past present and future , stories and legends were born and made . It was where the general and his chiefs planned the campaign ahead and plotted and schemed against everything that wasn't LFC . IMO it was the very heartbeat of Liverpool football club .

its also why a lot of liverpool fans still spit when the name Souness is used, even after what he did for us as a player, its a strange thing like that, we love him as a player but you have to blame him for the big part of us not winning the prem in the last 20 years.

We'll never get the bootroom back because it took 30 years to build. Look at this photty from 1963.

Shanks built a dynesty in an era when it was possible - which os not the case today.  (ref Maure - a dynesty of 1 doesn't count)

The bootroom wasn't a place, it was a clique of men devoted to the club.

Bootroom

but it was to do with respect for the club and for the players there. its about getting the kids back in to clean the boots and make them feel part of the club and to woke their way into the team and to know what a team meant. Kenny can do that, he was part of it and buy taking some old players back to the like like he is doing he is building his own bootroom and good luck to him, we need it......we have not wone the prem since it was taken away and thats a fact pmsl.
