not sure how many modern players would take to cleaning boots these days like :D
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

and thats my point, get them doing that and they might feel better about playing games on cold wet days at small grounds in the fa cup.

In the old days, the players and managers used to help paint the stands and cut the grass.

Life was simpler then... no twitter or celebrity status.

when i was very young, i think about 7, my dads mate took me to a bar in London, i met loads of men their that i did not know, (ok its not what your thinking lol) we was there for about 3hrs, i was very bored. Turned out it was the 1979 west ham team. I had photos taken with them, i did not look happy, i was standing the there with Frank Lampard sr,Billy Bonds,Trevor Brooking and Alan Devonshire.

we are lucky at Liverpool as it is still one of the only clubs that fans still get to meet players like the way i met that west ham team. look at when we won the EC, fans got to meet and drink the players that night and when they got home. not just when they were stuck on to of a bus.

That team had its feet on the ground and i hope kenny can build a team that can also keep its feet on the ground. and i think he will.
