Away leg - Will you enjoy it?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Big Niall » Fri Feb 25, 2005 4:36 pm

Unless we score early, I won't enjoy the away leg. I'll sit there, cursing and biting my nails with the heart pounding.

Just wondering about other peoples attitude. I know these are huge games that I look forward to but when the game is on and it is tight do you enjoy it or are you nervous and fidgety.

Maybe its like a roller coaster - you enjoy the fear!
Some people, even in pubs, just sing away, have beers and seem perfectly happy.

this is the competition we all crave theres nothing better than going away from to a outfit who are good at home and turning them over roma in rome1984 madrid in paris 1981 we where underdogs for both matches and we turned them over there is no better feeling when the final whistle is blown im cackin myself just thinkin about it.

the worst feeling in a big game is when they have a break on or a good move developing where we are caught out at the back. you can just sense something is going to happen and you find yourself thinking "get 4kin back, get 4kin back!"
thats an awful feeling

I can't see LFC not scoring so unless we lose an early goal I'll be reasonably relaxed :)

I'm nervous already. Dread to think what it'll be like on the day. I wish it were over.

And I'm going to Lanzarote for a week the following morning. Hopefully I'll be watching the draw in Lineker's bar Friday lunchtime.

That last minute goal was scored for a reason.

I have no doubt we'll lose the game, but the question is are we good enough to lose by only 1 goal?

Think abuot the times we're needed results at home to go through, when we were so close against Paris and Celta in the past and then against Roma a few years ago.

Had they not scored that last minute goal, i'd have been confident. Now, i'm very sceptical i'm affraid and lets be honest, when am i ever the pessimist?

3-1 is never a great score because an early goal from the other team and it is always a back to the wall fight but one crumb of comfort I will take from this scoreline that Liverpool hold is that in 7 CL matches so far this season they have conceded just 4 goals and never more than one in any match.

stu you do talk ****** im afraid, yes u're usually positive but u're taking the ****** now

we'll lose will we, well you're giving up already and u're the liverpool supporter, not the sort of talk we need

it will be tough but 3-1 is a good enough lead to see through, the way u're talking you think we just lost 3-1

Of course i'm talking ******...

Well i tell you what lad, If Leverkusen score the first goal out there or score within the first half, you can sit there and pretend you aren't worried. I however will be, missing our best players like Morientes and Alonso and having a captain with a negative attitude who thinks he's bigger than the club doesn't stand us in good stead!!
