Just awful news altogether and I'd say the lad is devastated. At least when someone is unwell you can prepare over time but this is tragic. My heart really goes out to the lad.

I hope hes gone home because he should. His head isn't going to be where we need it to be.

Awful news. Hope the lad is given the time and space he needs by the club and media.

The only GK who can challenge him for title of best keeper in the world is Neuer. There is no way we would have been able to hang on to him 6 or 7 years ago.

Definitely one of the best in the world, if not the best. I know we all know it but I just think it doesn't get said often enough.

One of my favourite players. He comes across as very humble in his interviews, but he's one of the best in the world.

Wonderful to see the club rally round him during the death of his father.

Hopefully he'll be a red for many more years to come.

Great goalie and a really good guy but he has got a bit to do in my opinion before he can be considered better than Ray Clemence and here is the reason why:

Football League First Division: 1972–73, 1975–76, 1976–77, 1978–79, 1979–80
FA Cup: 1973–74
League Cup: 1980–81
FA Charity Shield: 1974, 1976, 1977 (shared), 1979, 1980
European Cup: 1976–77, 1977–78, 1980–81
UEFA Cup: 1972–73, 1975–76
European Super Cup: 1977[22]

To be honest I didn’t realise Clem had won that much until I checked his Wiki page. Absolutely phenomenal team player and goalkeeper. I just hope Ali’s list of honours can compare in a few years time.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years (10 years

Spurs £510m (£541m)

Man City £307m (£1012m)
Man United £702m (£1249m)

I think Clemence was a fantastic keeper for us and made me want to be a keeper when I was young. I do think Allison however is better despite  the trophies. Clemence was not even England’s number one as Shilton was preferred to him (to my disappointment) but with Allison’s ability on the ball it makes it a no contest, he changes our team and is a pivot point and I don’t think you can say the same about Clemence (RIP). Either way each has his own place in our history and I am grateful.

Clem was a superb traditional goalie but footie has evolved since his era and Ali is a modern goalie playing behind a very complicated Liverpool back 4 with 2 wingbacks and centre halves pushing high requiring not just a superb keeper but one totally confident in his own ability. In that respect Ali is a higher level than Clem, but Clem's contribution to his LFC team was equal to where Ali is today, he was a critical element in their success both in the League and in Europe. Asking whether Ali is better than Clem is like asking if Klopp is better than Whispering Bob - different men in different times.

Big shout out for Alisson for today as well. Outstanding save from Almiron's volley to keep us in the game. Will be up there as one of the best saves of the season for sure.

Alisson is only 31 but Kelleher is 6 years younger at 25.
I'm kinda tempted to cash in on Ali now and make Kelleher our number 1?

I think ,with Klopp leaving at the end of this season, then it's likely Alisson may well leave and unlock a sizeable monetary return for the new manager

Selling Ali would be a huge mistake.

He's world class and will be in his prime for another 5 or 6 years.

Kelleher has been impressive, but his distribution and all round play is one or two levels below Ali.
