Our kid did Crouch 1st goal and Liverpool to win 3-0, it was in Stanley's (now William Hill owned) so where did you get the bets on?

he hasnt not been given the 1st goal yet officially tho i think, just press association given it as own goal but does that mean everytime a keeper gets a glove to a ball its an own goal?

I thought the same, all touches by goalkeepers given as own goals will mean Nigel Martyn will be the top goalscorer in the Premiership.

The press association are the same people who have been slagging Crouch, so small wonder they do not want to give it to him.

Also, I thought you worked in a bookies Dawson ? Surely you should know the rules about own goals not counting !!

yes. own goals do not count. which is why u should always back no goal scorer and not 0-0, just in case. In this case it did not matter as crouch did score 2nd as well. Alo, most bookies loving publicity would have paid out on crouch and whoever had scored second had the situation arose. At this point in time tho there has been no offical fa ruling on the first goal...

i backed him first goal and my thinking was that when he scores he'll get a hat trick, so backed that as well.
im hoping that one day he will get a hat trick.. plus i explained the bookies thing a bit ago
