From the blue side - 3rd may 1989 everton programme

Hillsborough remembrance and related information

Postby laza » Mon Jul 03, 2006 12:19 pm

Leon's post about passing of Joe Fagan had me sorting through some of my old LFC possessions. I happen to find this programme which a blue friend had given me many years ago.
I thought I share it, apologies for the quality of pixs

From what i know, relations back then with the Evertonians were great, and their club was great during Hillsborough, as a lot of blues lost family and friends as well. It's a shame they've soured so much, largely due to their bitterness but also some of the gloryhunting fans our club has gained over the last few years, with the treble in 2001 and Istanbul.

Cheers for posting that though laza. Nice touch. JFT96.

Thanks Laza, that reminded me of how things were in those days.  I remember not being surprised that Everton were supportive at the time.  I think if something similar happened today the club would be supportive again, but I do wonder about the supporters.  I know Everton fans and (for some unexplained reason) most of my mates have always been Man City fans, but the City fans don't seem nearly as bitter as the Evertonians.
