Virus alert - Warning

Received this warning from a mate. thought I'd pass it on (no pun intended).

Hi All, I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus!

I checked snopes.com, and it is for real!! http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/postcard.asp

You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD,' regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you by a friend, do not open it.! Shut down your computer immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.

or maybe the virus is in the email your mate sent you and the 25 emails you're being asked to forward is the way the virus spreads itself...

jesus - you just don't know who to trust these days, do you?

Another warning I recieved, was that if you recieve a call on your mobile from someone saying they are a network engineer asking you to press #90 for chekcing the line, drop the call, apparently its a way of accessing your SIM and making calls via it.

never shake hands with a stranger as they may have a special skin implant which can access all your banking details.

Aye. Not that this kind of message is a hoax always, but many of those mails that write "forward this email to all your messenger contacts" what they seek is that the Hotmail or messenger servers have extra work all of a sudden, and they collapse.

When this happens, you log in your messenger and it doesn't work. Many times that this happens, you can blame it to succesful chain mails like this.

It may well be another of those "let's cause a panic" hoaxes, probably is, but I won't be opening any e:mails marked "postcard"  :D

For the record, I haven't mailed it to anyone, just a cut and paste job for all in here.

Trust me. Not even pronouncing it 'in the style of Hermann from Hannover' would make one single iota of difference to the quality of the place....

Vigan Jawohl!!!
