I think this is a similar thing to my black comedy example previously in that its just the Ultra-camp comedian thing thats been done to death, i think that is why Alan Carr annoys so many people in that hes just another guy using a line of comedy that seems really dated, its been a mainstay on British TV since Larry Grayson and D*ck Emery (have to censor that!) 40 odd years ago! Sadly it seems the Networks (im looking at you, Channel f*cking 4) seem content to just wheel out the same recycyled cr*p over and over again every 5-6 years, replacing older stars with fresh younger models that don't bring anything new to us, but most TV viewers don't notice or really care as all they really want is something to take their minds of their miserable, unforfilled lives, sh*tty jobs and the f*cking credit crunch.

Just watch reruns of Scrubs, Futurama and the Simpsons and you can't go wrong,  humour at its very best

thing is you are  talking about so many different types & past times of comedy i find it hard to pass comment! -fench & saunders have been around for years also the likes of chubby brown, 20 years + so no comparison should or can be made with the others you mention,it's a generation thing i suppose- who the feck is mel & sue or dave chappelle, never heard of them? 

like i say so called comedians of today's era are mostly shyte i can't think of many i would pay my hard earnt money to go an watch, sad but true especially when we can & need a fecking good laugh in these times! at least in years gone by you had comedians who told jokes like it was, & lifted people's spirits & fecking made you laugh so the next day was less painfull!

now adays it's mostly cr@p comics who just try & relate to what people are or think thats what people are going through in every day life that makes them so shyte. at least comics back then knew how to tell a joke & made people laugh, cause they had a real & natrual talent & was eal value for money!

i honestly can't remember the last brilliant comic i saw live who was so called famous,the best iv'e seen lately haven't been on main stream telly but on comedy nights out & about, telling jokes & stories about today's issues & saying things as it is. there are some really good comedians about out & about that are not so called 'top name comics' - but for me are better than most of the shyte i see on the telly etc anyday.

That Michael McIntyre fella is another one I find about as funny as being raped with a Black and Decker hammer drill. How the feck he got his own show I don't know. He seems to know his material is shite so resorts to shouting it as if that makes it funnier!

Funnily enough (pun intended, honest!) I agree completely about Ricky Gervais but find Michael McIntyre hilarious.

I've never thought the Office and Extras was really funny. it's that style of humour that's aimed at "Oh, that's amusing because my colleague is a little like that". There's no actual jokes or funny lines in it.

His stand up technique seems to be saying the most politically incorrect thing then gurning. Funny for 5 mins, not funny for 90.

As for Michael McIntyre, I thought he was mildly amusing on Mock the Week and actually hoped he'd be terrible at stand up but I can't help but laugh. I guess it's all personal taste really! (except for Gina Yashere...as I've mentioned her before, if you find her funny you're retarded).


One comedian I would say is hilarious live is Ross Noble. Saw him do a show in the back end of nowhere in Scotland a few years ago and his off-the-cuff improv stuff was brilliant. He even trapped a fly in a fire alarm cover. I guess you had to be there....

Half the problem now is, everything needs ratifying/analysing....'approving' by the bloody do-gooders - the PC mob who have turned this country into a f*cking nervous wreck when it comes to being allowed to express an opinion which doesn't conform to the oh so exacting standards of our *cough* betters in Brussels/Strasbourg/Geneva et al for example.

You can hardly open yer gob with true conviction these days without some cu*t jumping down your throat with a metaphorical bar of Palmolive.

the sad thing is ace, i never had any issues with the guy until his sick joke about my mother, i gave a little response he then slated me in the thread about bent signs and has continued it ever since. i sent the clown a pm asking why he suddenly had an issue with me since we had never had any issues before but now he claims he never read it.

the simple thing to do would be to admit his joke was uncalled for and out of order but he would rather defend it claiming it was aimed at my percieved dislike of kuyt and he thinks this justifies saying another posters 70 year old mother flashes her vagina to over rated footballers.

now he seems to want to raise me in every thread and questions why bob has not dealt with me, well maybe bob can see this for what it is and realises where the issue is coming from.

Everytime I turn channel 4 on nowadays i see thais tw@t called Jack Whitehall. He's even got his own show now called TNT or something like that. He tries to be funny but is about as funny as aids. Infact you could say he's the new Richard Blackwood as I don't know what his talent actually is.

Oh and don't even get me started on Alan f#cking "I'm so gay" Carr.
